The Powys/Brecon Beacons region

This is border country - where England meets Wales. Wild unspoilt landscapes great for walking and exploring. Mountains, rivers, forests and castles abound! Wonderful small quirky market towns including the book town of Hay on Wye are on your doorstep.

The Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons dominate the area along with the meandering River Wye, rated as one of Europe's cleanest rivers so great for wild swimming, fishing and canoeing. Hay on Wye is internationally renowned for being the home of over 30 second hand book shops. The town also boasts great cafes, restaurants and traditional pubs. Directly from the peren there are walks along the river and around the community footpaths into Hay.
