The Northern England / Yorkshire/Yorkshire Dales region

Bronte Country lies between the East Lancashire pennines and West Yorkshire. It is where the famous Bronte Sisters grew up and wrote several acclaimed novels, such as "Jane Eyre", "The Tenant of Wildfell Hall" and "Wuthering Heights". The area itself is highly scenic with desolate moorland, rocky hillsides and plenty of walkways to explore. Skipton, the gateway to the Yorkshire dales, is a short drive away and opens up even more breathtaking landscapes, and places to visit and enjoy.
The Haworth area
Haworth village is situated above the Worth Valley amid the atmospheric Pennine moors in West Yorkshire, just north of Bradford . Haworth is internationally famous for its connection with the Bronte sisters, who wrote most of their famous works while living at the Haworth Parsonage. In Haworth village itself. There are many cosy tea rooms, unique and interesting shops, charming restaurants and pubs, making Haworth an ideal base for exploring the Bronte Country , while still being close to the major cities of Bradford and Leeds , and Manchester, just a little further away.

We had a wonderful family Christmas 2011 at Bronte Square. The owners could not have been more helpful in providing everything we needed to make turkey and trimmings. The accommodation was tastefully decorated and very comfortable. Our kids had a ball. It was pricey - you get what you pay for I suppose - but I would highly recommend it. |
