Cumbria and the Lake District are also within easy driving distance and provide excellent walking and cycling opportunities, whilst the bustling market town of Hawes is close by and provides an award winning museum dedicated to country life in the Dales as well as famous rope-makers. As the capital of Wensleydale, the town of Hawes has an excellent range of shops, pubs and eating places, all just waiting to be explored.
