About the home

From the outside this cottage is recognisable as one of the truly authentic cottages in Yorkshire. The entrance way of the cottage is homely and fit to hold coats and boots after a day's walk outside. The lounge furthers the homely feel with its comfortable sofas, television and radio, ready for a relaxing evening, as well as a multi fuel stove for cold winter nights. The kitchen itself has many amenities, an electric oven with hobs, a microwave and a fridge-freezer, as well as both a washing machine and tumble dryer. Upstairs are three bedrooms. The first is a double whilst the second is a twin, both are suitable for couples. The last is a small single bedroom suitable for a child, making the accommodation Yorkshire has appropriate for families.

The Northern England / Yorkshire/Yorkshire Dales region

The Yorkshire Dales is home to over 1,500 square kilometres of the renowned Yorkshire Dales National Park, which is characterised by its unspoilt Dales villages, patchwork of dry stone walls and stunning fells and dales countryside.Visitors are able to travel for miles along quiet country roads, surrounded by magnificent views in every direction; an area dotted with ancient farming communities and rural villages which is typical of this region.This area is perfect for a truly relaxing holiday away from all the stresses and strains of day to day life, where you rediscover a gentler pace of life. It's also great for enjoying a whole host of outdoor pursuits including some of the very best walks in the UK.

The Hawes / Sedbusk area

The Wensleydale area of the Yorkshire Dales National Park is a culturally rich area of England with many sites of interest. Yorkshire has many beautiful walks and High House gives a great starting point for many of these. It's possible to walk to Buttertubs pass or even Tan Hill Inn, the highest pub in Great Britain. For those who don't want to walk but want to see the same sights horse riding is also often an option. Aside from that there are many local highlights such as Bolton Castle and the world renowned Wensleydale Creamery Visitors Centre.
