Cottage | 2 bedrooms | sleeps 4
This cosy two bedroom cottage is located at the centre of the market town of Hawes in Wensleydale. Situated in peaceful seclusion, Dear Cottage is still only a stone's throw away from a plethora of pubs, shops and restaurants in Hawes. Like many Yorkshire cottages, Dear Cottage is a traditional stone building on a winding street. Dear Cottage is welcoming and well equipped, with a full kitchen including a microwave, fridge, freezer and washer/dryer alongside the usually fitted appliances. Northern England region
The Yorkshire Dales is home to over 1,500 square kilometres of the renowned Yorkshire Dales National Park, which is characterised by its unspoilt Dales villages, patchwork of dry stone walls and stunning fells and dales countryside.
Visitors are able to travel for miles along quiet country roads, surrounded by magnificent views in every direction; an area dotted with ancient farming communities and rural villages which is typical of this region.
This area is perfect for a truly relaxing holiday away from all the stresses and strains of day to day life, where you rediscover a gentler pace of life. It's also great for enjoying a whole host of outdoor pursuits including some of the very best walks in the UK.
As well as the shops and pubs in Hawes, there are a variety of activities available which make this a family-friendly holiday destination. You can try your hand at craft sessions, pottery classes and even rope-making. Why not sample the infamous taste of Yorkshire cheeses at the Wensleydale Cheese visitors centre?
Hawes is an excellent place to start a trail or a hike through the Pennines and over the dales, which is great if you need some exercise after all the cheese! Ideally situated between the adjoining dales of Swaledale, Cotterdale, Dentdale, Garsdale, Wharfedale and Chapel-le-Dale, Hawes really is the charming gateway to the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
