The West Wales/Pembrokeshire region
The West Wales/Pembrokeshire Region:
Haverfordwest is a town which has experienced periods of boom and bust resulting from prosperous trading and wars but through it all has remained a town worthy of visits by royalty & celebrity. Haverfordwest remains the county town of Pembrokeshire, with a Town Mayor, who also holds the title of Admiral of the Port, plus a Town Sheriff-one of only fifteen City & Town Sheriffs in England & Wales one of only two in Wales. Haverfordwest is not only a town but a county in its own right. It grew up under the shadow of a Flemish Castle to become Pembrokeshire's administrative centre, encompassing a thriving market town with interesting shops run by local retailers displaying wonderful gifts from our locale alongside other items of interest. The town hosts an award winning farmers market, a wide range of restaurants and cafes, supermarkets, public houses and hotels. Haverfordwest lays claim to the oldest reputed Cricket Club in Wales. There are also Rugby, Football, Bowls, Golf and Tennis clubs.
Visitors to Haverfordwest are never far from award winning beaches with golden sands, pebbles or impressive cliffs and the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path. Many famous Pembrokeshire attractions such as St Govan's Chapel (built into the cliff face) with superb views from Stack Rocks, surfers beach at Freshwater East (which featured in Harry Potter - The Deathly Hallows and Robin hood films), Oakwood Theme Park, Folly Farm, Manor House Wildlife Park, Dinosaur experience and Heatherton World of Adventures are all within easy reach.
Alternatively there are riverside walks in town or in the nearby countryside and for those interested in history there are the historic castle, churches and buildings in town. While monoliths, megaliths, castles, historical buildings and ruins abound in nearby countryside. The majestic St David's Cathedral is less than half an hour away and Haverfordwest also has one the best golf courses in the county.
Not the biggest town in Pembrokeshire, but the most populous, Haverfordwest is the central administrative hub of this region of Wales. Close to the Celtic Trail, and a good central Pembrokeshire base for access north up to the Preseli Hills and west towards St Brides Bay, Haverfordwest has one of the best local history museums in Pembrokeshire plus its own Castle too!
The town centre has an array of shops and a pleasant converted quay (Haverfordwest was once a thriving port at the end of the river estuary). It is a bustling, busy town with plenty of restaurants, accommodation, pubs and cafes but within minutes of some of the finest beaches on the Pembrokeshire coastline.
So ..... come and join us, after all, what could be better than strolling through the countryside, or on the beach, breathing fresh country air while the sun shines?

Haverfordwest Golf Club is an excellent parkland course adjacent to the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. It enjoys magnificent views of the Preseli Hills and the historic County Town of Haverfordwest. The Club is very accessible as it is located on the A40, one mile east of Haverfordwest and only 50 minutes west of Swansea. The clubhouse, which was built in 1994, has excellent facilities including a recently refurbished lounge, golfers' bar and a restaurant offering home cooked cuisine in a traditional atmosphere. Continuing development and investment over the years have led to what is now a mature tree lined course which boasts some of the finest parkland greens in Wales. The 18 hole course measures 6002yds par 70 for men and 5260yds par 72 for ladies. Haverfordwest is ideal for visitors, since the course provides a challenge to all handicaps and yet all tees are close to the previous green making for a pleasant walk

"Fabulous house in perfect Pembrokeshire location"
Pembroke House is ideally located and the beach themed décor of the house immediately made you feel you were on holiday and want to explore the fantastic array of beaches along the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. The house is on the edge of Haverfordwest market town so you were never far away from shops, cinema and leisure facilities but also just a short drive away to the beaches of Newgale (great for surfing) Little Haven, Broadhaven and Whitesands (blue flag beach). It offers a great combination holiday suitable for those wanting to visit beaches but also wishing to be close to other activities. The house is large set out on 4 floors (good exercise) and has 2 lounges/kitchens which gave us plenty of chill out space for adults and kids. Well equipped kitchens, 2 showers (one is a large double), a large flatscreen TV in lounge and TV's/hifi in most bedrooms. Free FWifi was available. We visited the Blue Lagoon Water Park and Oakwood Theme Park at Narberth, the go karting centre and took in a round of golf at Haverfordwest Golf Club (just 10 mins drive away). St Davids was also a great day out. We had a packed holiday full of rest, relaxation, fun, beach bbq's etc and are really looking forward to our return visit which has already been booked. A perfect house for a great family holiday, would definitely recommend a visit.
