5 star self-catering Cysgod y Plas is a large, inviting house, starting with an impressive welcome hamper on arrival. Along with its quirky features, you also get 24 acres of garden, grass tennis court, 5 a side football pitch (grass) and 400 metres of private fishing on the Western Cleddau. All of this makes for a very private holiday, yet the county town of Haverfordwest is just 2 miles away. The beautiful Pembrokeshire Coast National Park with 186 miles of walks and beaches are easily accessible as are the stunning Preseli Hills to the north. An ideal, central base from which to explore or relax in Pembrokeshire.
Cysgod y Plas was built in circa 1830 and sits behind and, within the grounds of Glanafon Manor, a grade II listed Georgian manor house, built we believe by William Owen. The Coach House has retained many of its original features and down stairs the single bunks and beds have been fitted between the original four horse stalls. The double bedrooms with roll top baths are accessed off the stalls. The property is suitable for up to four adults and four children.

The West Wales / Pembrokeshire / Pembrokeshire region
A perfect holiday cottage destination, Pembrokeshire boasts superb beaches, stunning scenery, and a plethora of activities including family attractions like Oakwood Leisure Park and Folly Farm. Best of Wales have numerous holiday cottages in Pembrokeshire. Why not try a spot of dolphin or whale watching out of St Davids, or surfing at many of the areas fabulous surf beaches. The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park which includes over 621 miles (1000 km) of footpaths and bridleways, walking is an ideal way of exploring the beauty of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. The Pembrokeshire Coast National Trail is a spectacular 186 miles (299 km) long National Trail covering some of the most varied coastal scenery in Britain, stretching from St Dogmaels in the north to Amroth in the south. Trails in the park offer over 200 circular walks, ranging from a one hour stroll to an invigorating 9 miles (15km) cross-country hikes.
Pembrokeshire has some of the very best surf beaches in Wales, with breaks for every level of surfer. With little interruption of South Westerly swells beaches like Newgale and Freshwater West pick up any swell going. In bigger storm swells travelling a little further to beaches like Abermawr or Freshwater East will help you find more sheltered breaks, often with great offshore conditions when other sites are blown out. Despite the number of excellent spots, there will usually be somewhere to surf that the crowds haven't reached, and even the most popular tourist beaches like Whitesands and Newgale only become busy during the summer months. There's a great atmosphere in Pembrokeshire, with a relaxed surf culture. If the swell doesn't arrive then there are lots of other activities to keep you outdoors!
The Haverfordwest area
Situated on a private estate accessed through electric gates, Glanafons’ large self-catering Coach House is set along a meandering drive behind Glanafon Manor a Grade 2 listed Georgian private residence. Guests have full access to 24 acres of garden, a grass tennis court and games field. There is also some 400 metres of private fishing on the Western Cleddau. Nearby shops within ¼ mile towards the nearby village of Prendergast include a chemist, a character butchers shop, village store and 24 hr garage with cash point.
The main County Town of Haverfordwest lies within 2 miles of the property and features local farmers markets, restaurants, pubs, leisure centre and cinema. Haverfordwest serves as the market town for most of the county of Pembrokeshire. As a result of its position at the tidal limit of the Western Cleddau River, it forms an important road network hub between other towns in Pembrokeshire such as Milford Haven, Pembroke Dock, Fishguard and St David's,
Pembrokeshires popular attractions such as Oakwood Theme Park, Folly Farm and the Blue Lagoon Waterpark are all a short distance away. Culture and heritage enthusiasts will enjoy visiting the many castles such as Pembroke (birth place of the Tudors), and popular attractions like St Davids Cathedral, The Torch Theatre and the many glorious gardens and festivals. There are beautiful blue flag beaches within 10 miles where you can also join the 186 mile Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Path. Broad Haven is a favourite with bathers and watersports enthusiasts, with pubs, a shop, restaurant, cafe all in the immediate area. Broad Havens westerly facing sandy beach offers excellent conditions for kite-surfing, kite-buggying, windsurfing and surfing.
Nearby St Davids and Solva are also worth a visit. St Davids is Britain's smallest city. It is a beautiful and unique city surrounded by some of the finest coastline in Europe. The city of St Davids lies on the River Alum and is located on the St David's peninsula. Solva is known as the jewel of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. You will find several local pubs providing great food and atmosphere.

Wales is easily reached from the London airports whether you travel by train, car or bus. If you rent a car, you can get from London to South Wales in only two to three hours. By train it’s even quicker, just two hours from London to Cardiff. If you prefer to travel by bus, National Express coach services travel direct to both South Wales and North Wales.
