The Normandy / Manche region
The gite is located in a very peaceful and tranquil place, in the heart of Cotentin a very nice and picturesque village. The property is close to Ste Mère church, and the historical landing beaches of World War II.
The beaches on the east and west coast are only 20 kms away and uncrowded making Normandy a great place for a relaxing break away. The surrounding countryside is lush and fertile and there are plenty of quaint fishing villages, castles and the famous Mont St Michel to explore.
Cherbourg is only 35 km away - only half an hour by car.
Hautteville Bocage area
Hautteville is a tiny village. The word Bocage means lanes and there are plenty of rural lanes to explore in this area. Walkers and nature lovers are ideally based here to explore the rich countryside, whilst only a short drive of 20km will take you to the nearest beach.
The village of Orglandes is only 2 km away and has a bakery for fresh croissants, a delicatessen and tennis courts. St Sauveur le Vicomte is only 5 km away and will cater for all your shopping needs, a swimming pool and also other activities such as canoeing and kayaking.
