OPENED ALL YEAR ROUND. This XVIIth century gite in Perigord Noir, just recently restored, is in true historical character and has all modern comforts. You can enjoy also a large covered terrace for privacy. This independent house is situated in the country side, on a calm large private estate with an exceptional view of the Château de Hautefort.

Le Buisson is a gite in a quiet hamlet (also named Le Buisson), that welcomes you and permits you to have a very memorable holiday. As you enter you’ll find a large reception room with a big fireplace and a wood burning stove for additional efficient heating as well as a kitchen and a dining area. There is a bedroom for a couple with accommodations such as a private bathroom and wc. You have also a small additional room with a small fireplace that can be used as a second single bedroom or a place for you to relax. There is also a wonderful covered private outside furnished terrace for your use. Even if this place is calm, please know that you have numerous possibilities for visiting the amazing historical country side attractions like Hautefort, Les Eyzies, Lascaux and La Vallée de La Préhistoire, Sarlat and La Vallée de la Dordogne with their medieval castles. Perigueux and Bergerac are not far and you will find a wine district and the circle of medieval bastides… The owner lives near and is always prompt to give you information and directions if needed. Babysitting is also possible if necessary.

The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Dordogne region
North East Aquitaine, Dordogne, has an elegant and hilly country side to explore and has been an area of choice for so many Brits. The area has almost no public transport, so you will need a car to enjoy your stay. However Hautefort is close by and has an excellent supermarket and all the services you might need.
Hautefort / Cherveix-Cubas area
The beautiful Château de Hautefort dominates the town and is a great place to visit. Foie gras, duck and truffles are also local delicacies along with walnuts available at many of the local markets.
There is a great choice for sports especially walking and cycling, and even canoeing in the area of the Auvezere, the Vezere and the Dordogne. Horse riding is easily organized from stables nearby. There are tennis courts to hire in St Agnan (2kms). The nearest swimming pool is at Tourtoirac (8km from the gite). There is also an 18 hole golf course, open to the public, on the outskirts of Perigueux.
