The beautiful, quaint and unspoilt village of Haus im Ennstal is probably one of Europe's best kept secrets in summer and winter. Part of the Ski Amade lift pass, Haus offers extensive local skiing and is interlinked to 3 more resorts, including the world cup pistes of Schladming.
Hauser Kaibling won the best test-retest award for all ski resorts in Europe - (joint first with Kitsbuhel), for the quality of the lifts, preparation of the pistes and for the typical traditional cuckoo-clock style restaurants! This is a fantastic ski area with 175km of traditional tree lined skiing with slopes for all abilities, and additionally the Ski Amade lift pass covers you for over 15 other resorts for no extra cost!
Haus has such charm, appeal and character in summer too - being quoted as 'the jewel in the crown' of all Styria, and was officially awarded the title of 'the most beautiful village in Europe', in the European competition 'entente florale in September 2014. Our modern yet traditional 60m2 quality apartment, with stunning mountain views from all windows, is decorated and furnished to a high standard, and has all modern appliances. The apartment is situated on the ground floor of a private house, and is very cosy, heated by both central and underfloor heating (INCLUDED IN RENTAL PRICE ) and comfortably sleeps 4 people in 2 bedrooms. One bedroom has a super kingsize bed, and one bedroom has adult sized twin beds. The apartment is in a quiet and peaceful, sunny location at the edge of the village. We have private, off road parking for 2 cars, one place undercover.
The apartment opens out onto an open plan garden via french door, from which to enjoy the amazing scenery. SKI LIFT is WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE, (or a 1 minute drive), and the apartment is easily accessible from the main road by car. A ski bus to the other local resorts is a short walk away.
If golf is your summer hobby, you will be interested to know that the Golf Professional for the Dachstein -Tauren golf course which is overlooked by this apartment, lives locally and takes private lessons which we can arrange for you.. Just call and ask for details and prices!
The apartment lies at an altitude of 750m, with the top of Haus Mountain, 2019m, only a cable car ride away, operating in summer and winter. The views are breath-taking, and the mountain air simply invigorating. A warm Austrian welcome awaits you in this very traditional village, where before you know it ,everyone knows your name. One bedroom has a super king-size bed, the other has two adult size single beds. 1 bedroom has remote controlled satellite TV', with HDMI TV in dining area. All rooms have spectacular mountain views. The bathroom is equipped with toilet / shower / wash basin as well as both underfloor heating and heated towel rail. The open plan kitchen / dining / living area has a leather couch, dining table for 4-5 and modern kitchen with microwave, fridge with small freezer, dishwasher, full size cooker with 4 ring hob, toaster, kettle and coffee maker. Entrance hall has underfloor heating, great for drying ski boots

There is off road parking for two cars- (under cover for one) The apartment opens out via french doors onto own private terrace with summer garden furniture. Open plan garden slopes down to the road, and guests are invited to make use of the garden to enjoy the spectacular alpine mountain scenery. In Summer there is a fantastic outdoor swimming pool and volley ball / tennis courts a 10 minute walk. Children's play area and pit pat are situated in the heart of the village, near the local bakery/café, which often hosts traditional summer Austrian concerts.

The Styria region
This 'Ski Amande' region is a fantastic unspoiled ski area of outstanding natural beauty with incredible scenery. It offers 223 km of traditional skiing with109 cable cars and chair lifts with a variety of runs for all abilities. 2 main gondolas are accessible in the village of Haus, and a ski- bus stop is just a few metres from the apartment.
This resort upgrades itself every year with constant changes and improvements. Locally in 2014 2 more pistes were extended , and 2 more new 8 seater chair lifts added! There is an English speaking, Austrian ski school in the village, for both improving skiers, and those learning, on nursery slopes. Typically Styrian on-piste cafes and restaurants are always close at hand. Lift passes and equipment are available in the village. The Ski season typically begins early December, and runs well into spring usually until 1 week after Easter. For the real enthusiast the Dachstein glacier nearby offers almost year-round skiing!
Ski Amade is one of Austria's best with World Cup cachet, north facing snow security and massive scope.Haus is a medieval village, the first resort in four major areas which connect to make it one of the biggest linked circuits in Austria. With enough variety and scope to satisfy all abilities, Haus / Schladming is one of Austria's top five ski destinations!This ski area boasts one of the best lift companies in Austria. Modern, fast chairs and gondolas provide speedy uplift and the powerful snowmaking system is used early in the season to lay a great base.
GOLF:The apartment is within a 10 minute walk and overlooks the Dachstein Tauern Golf and Country Club, where golf is definitely stimulating enough to return to do battle! It was designed by Germanys US Masters champion 'Bernhard Langer', and is a course on many different elevations with a river, and ponds making up water features and bunkers which lie flat to the green leading you into cunning traps before you see them! You may find it difficult to concentrate with the 360 degree fantastic alpine scenery. Whether its taking a gentle cycle ride along the river bank, for as far as you wish to go, or being a bit more active - mountain biking down the world cup track in Schladming, there are cycling opportunities for all! There are hundreds of kilometres of marked cycling routes, in this area, one of them from the door of the apartment! Bring your own cycle, or hire locally (electric bikes are available for the less energetic!)
Just as the cycling tracks are marked, there are miles of marked hiking tracks locally, whether you want to keep to the low lands, or adventure over the mountain ranges, hike by the side of water falls, or wander around beautiful alms, there is something for everyone!. Organised walking days can also be booked locally. There are many exciting outdoor activities very close by from climbing, hiking, paragliding, mountain bike treks riding and down hill mountain biking.
Haus im Ennstal
-The apartment is nestled in the Enns valley between the impressive Dachstein and Tauern mountain ranges, offering pristine lush green alpine meadows, over 300 crystal clear tarns and invigorating mountain air -and with a population of only 31,148 for the entire region, being over-crowded is never a problem!
WITHIN THE VILLAGE (10 mins walk)
The unspoilt village of Haus has a huge number of marked hiking and cycling routes on hand, as well as pit-pat, tennis, a children's play area, and an open air swimming pool with fantastic views and feature slide. Museums, shops and a supermarket, hairdressers and masseur, are also available in the village. There are wonderful, friendly, traditional bars and restaurants, a bakery, church, town hall, dentist and tourist information office, all in the village. In Summer evenings open air concerts at one of the local hostelries are very frequent, with traditional Austrian live music. There is a local farmers market every second Thursday throughout the summer
A Traditional cable car to the mountain peak - 2000m is 10 mins walk away from the apartment, and is open summer and winter for hiking/skiing.
The small but world renowned bustling city of Schladming, home of the national Austrian ski school, is just 5 mins drive away, with its world cup ski run into the village. This converts into a mountain cycling run in the summer, with regular competitions held.

Go karting in Schladming centre, plus 7 km down hill carting track at Rorhmoos, (converts to a sledge/toboggan run in winter).
Tree climbing adventure.
Open air and covered pools, and fresh water swimming lakes.
Schladming hosts many events, summer and winter, including the Ennstal Classic car rally, the Mid European Music Festival, The FIS Ski Night Race, and the ski opening event always has well known artists. Past openings have included Pink, 40 seconds to Mars, and David Guetta to name a few.
There seems to be a traditional festival/celebration most weekends locally in the summer, and 'krampus' night in Schladming in early December is definitely not to be missed!!

Piber, in Western Styria is home of the the national stud of the world famous Lipizzaners horses and Stallions, as well as many other places of interest such as the Hundertwasser church and Stölzle Glass Centre in Bärnbach, and the Schilcher wine trail. Italy/Hungary/Solvenia are all within 3 hours by road. There is just so much to see!!
