The Granary,Old Church Farm
About the home
This lovely Granary has been converted to the highest standard and would make an ideal cottage for a vacation or short break. Old Church Farm and its ancient farmhouse with ponds and parkland is at the end of a tiny lane, next to a beautiful Norman church. The Granary offers you real peace and quiet to enjoy the gorgeous Wealden countryside in which it nestles.
The Granary was converted to give grown-up children of the family a holiday cottage/weekend retreat from the city. We can offer it when it is not in use by the family.
The inside of this heavily-beamed cottage really is different: from the harpsichord in the book-lined sitting room to the romantic slipper bath in the principal bedroom, it offers an individual and unusual retreat.
The cottage has been rated 4 Star by Visit Britain.

The South East England / Sussex region

Sussex is a county in South East England which has a long coastal area. The coastal towns include Hastings, Brighton, Worthing and Bognor.
The weather in Sussex is some of the best in Great Britain: it has on average more sunshine than any other mainland county.
The Hastings, Sussex / Guestling area
Close by are the winding cobbled streets of Rye, ancient Winchelsea, the 1066 attractions of Battle, and the traditional British seaside resort of Hastings, complete with Rick Stein-acclaimed fish and chips!
For nature lovers and walkers, the local ancient woods and countryside are a must, as is the Nature Reserve at Rye Harbour and Hastings Country Park. The 1066 long-distance way passes through the churchyard just 100 metres away from the cottage. Pett Level beach is wonderful and at low tide you can see the remains of the prehistoric submerged forest. There are several National Trust houses within the area, golf within 6 miles, and slightly further afield are the towns of Eastbourne and Tunbridge Wells.
Within a few miles there are several well-regarded pubs with CAMRA recognition. The excellent local pub, The Two Sawyers, is open all day and serves good food. It is just 4 minutes’ drive away or a walk of 15 minutes through woodland. Although there is a local supermarket 2 miles away, you may enjoy exploring the excellent farm shops in the surrounding villages.
