"Beautiful old apartment if you like shabby chic"

I have stayed in many holiday rentals both here and abroad but this experience was quite unique. I think the owners should decide if this is their home or a holiday let unfortunately it can't be… More

We are really sorry that the flat was not to your liking
this is the first feedback we have had of this nature
most people are happy with the fact that the place is homely
We have had a word with the cleaner who forgot to clean out the fridge on this occasion . The wardrobe in the big room is supposed to be locked the other one is empty for peoples clothes which is why you saw the clothes there ! We have replaced the pillows with the ones which were in the cupboard in the big room , i think we had some visitors who had a feather allergy so did that. But thanks for your feedback all the same. It is still an amazing bargain at 12.50 per night for each person so a little quirks can I suppose be acceptable ! Cheers

This is a large flat, decorated in bohemian style, located in a quiet residential area with some elegant Georgian houses. The bed in the back bedroom was turned down, whereas the bed in the front bedro… More

The pillows are of different sorts the hard one is a hypoallergenic pillow for feather allergies ( my brother suffers from this) we are sorry you didnt just use any bed you could have used both and we wouldnt have minded at all. the flat is there for your pleasure ,that bed was turned down just because my husband always does that at home and we use that bed when we stay. The bulbs in the front chandelier had blown and thats why the room was dim but we have happily replaced them. The spares are sittingin thecupboard . Sorry for your spoilt holiday I wish you had contacted us for clarification as we could have easily sorted this for you. Luckily it is the cheapest deal in hastings so it didnt break your bank as well as your hearts best wishes Andres wife

"Beautiful and serene"

Every picture tells a story but amazing though this flat looks in the pictures - in the flesh its even better! Seriously we were wowed when we opened the front door and continued to be so throughout our stay. Think it might just be one of the best if not the best, self catering places we have ever rented.

It felt very much a home from home - wonderful furniture and colour palate and excellent range of DVDs to choose from ( we did the entire Jim Jarmusch collection). Everything just as if the owners had walked out and said ' here look after this place for a bit for us will you?' Which in effect they had but it felt very personal and that's unusual in a rental!

It's a bit of a climb up,and down to the front - but the area is very scenic which more than compensates for the hills. Rider Hagard and Alan Turning both lived nearby - and if it was good enough for them - hey it's good enough for us.

The information left by the owner is comprehensive and quirky - and despite warnings - the shower was a doddle to operate. The bateau bath was a dream - we only have a shower at home - so a bath and a glass of wine is a huge luxury. Kitchen is great to cook in and fresh fish from the sheds down the Old Town made eating out redundant.

There are 2 bikes to borrow but we didnt get round to doing anything more than trying them out - which was great fun - ended up feeling like we were in the bike scene from Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid! Cue ' raindrops keep falling on my head'

Would I change anything? Not one thing could make this better - well unless those hills get flattened that is

wow thanks for the review we so glad you liked , thats my personal dvd collection so I am flattered , it is our home too so thats why its so homey a bit like staying at a friends house , you can even borrow one of my jumpers if you get cold !
