Byre Cottage
About the home
The Byre is a one bedroom cottage situated in the heart of beautiful countryside, with views overlooking a natural pond and a traditional Oast House. We offer a peaceful retreat in 30 acres of natural beauty, including meadows and ancient woodland with walks and streams, and also a tennis court. In the Spring, the woods are filled with a sea of wood anemones, bluebells and snowdrops, and in the summer months wild orchids, foxgloves and honeysuckle.
The cottage contains a bedroom, which can either be a king or twin beds, overlooking the valley. The bathroom has a separate bath and shower with similarly stunning views. The open plan lounge and kitchen is well stocked for all your cooking needs, and has comfortable leather chairs and a leather sofa. Upon arrival you will receive a welcome pack, including free range eggs from our chickens, local milk, bread, and produce from our garden.
The cottage also has a charming private garden with flowers, fruit bushes and herbs and garden furniture for you to enjoy the sunshine.
The cottage has a pack of comprehensive information about local attractions including: Bodiam castle; Batemans House; Lamb House; the glorious beaches at Camber, Winchelsea and Fairlight; steam trains at Tenterden and Hythe; Historic Rye; Battle Abbey; Winchelsea and Royal Military Canal. Bird watching opportunities at Rye Harbour and RSPB Dungeness. Famous gardens at Great Dixter, Sissinghurst, and Pashley Manor; Vineyards at Westfield and Sedlescombe; and the many good pubs and restaurants nearby. We also offer a folder of walks and maps; the Byre is located on 1066 country walk. For full details, please go to www.pattletons.co.uk.
