Rocklands Apartments
About the home
We have an apartment for 2 or 4 people in a superb position on the top of East Hill overlooking the sea. Ideal for a perfectly tranquil holiday or short break. There are many walks across the country park or a 15 minute walk across the cliffs down to the Old Town, so no worries about parking. Conveniently located for visiting the interesting places around Sussex and Kent or perfect for just a quiet relaxing holiday.
On a clear evening, the lights along the French coast can be seen together with the many boats and liners
in the deep water channel, so don't forget to pack your binoculars. We are also in a perfect position for viewing the stars and it is especially beautiful with the moon shining down onto the sea whilst enjoying a coffee or glass of wine on the balcony or patio.

Being up on the top of East Hill, we look out over the sea and Hastings Country Park. Hastings usually enjoys very warm temperatures so we are ideally placed for relaxing on the balcony or patio or walking along the clifftop walks to Fairlight and Rye or along the seafront to Bexhill and Eastbourne. We have many beautiful gardens and castles to visit in Sussex and brochures about these and other places of interest are readily available in the apartments. From Hastings station one can be in London to visit the theatre, shops, museums, Buckingham Palace or Madame Tussauds.
The Hastings, Sussex / East Hill, Sussex area
There are many attractions to visit in Hastings - Smugglers Caves, Fishermans Museum, Sea Life Centre, the new Jerwood Gallery or have fun at the Adventure Golf on the seafront where the world tournament is held every year. Tennis, golf, horse riding and fishing are all just a short drive away from Rocklands. We have a lot of talented artists and musicians and live music is usually found in the local pubs on Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons. George Street in the Old Town boasts many different kinds of restaurants and takeaways. The local fishing fleet launch from the beach at The Stade and the Rock-a-Nore fresh fish stalls and really good fried fish shops in Hastings are stocked with the daily catch. It is exciting to explore the many twittens with attractive cottages and gardens in the Old Town and to look for the blue plaques which tell us where authors, artists or famous people have lived. There are also many churches of various denominations around Hastings and St. Leonards. Through the summer there are festivals or parades along the seafront - the wellknown ones being Jack in the Green at the beginning of May and Food and Wine Festival in September. Old Town Week is always well attended and ends with the fantastic firework display on the beach in October. Hastings is hoping to regain the greatest number of people dressed as pirates on the beach on Pirates Day in 2012. Of course, with the Olympics in London this year there will be many celebrations around the town.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom 1st floor apartment for a week in April with my partly disabled mother and elderly aunt. We found it spotlessly clean, well furnished and equipped to a high standard, in fact we could not fault it at all. Will defiantly use again if we stay around the Hastings area. |

We stayed in a one bed ground floor apartment for 5 weeks in Jan/Feb as we had to vacate our home. Apartments are spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We had ground floor apt which has its own patio area overlooking the sea, very nice for a summer break! |
