St.Benedict is a four storey villa dating to 1882, with a spacious garden and sea views over the English Channel. The house has been lovely restored by its present owners to its original Victorian layout. Fabrics and furnishings have been selected to reflect the style and taste of the 1880s, with great attention to period detail.

There are three well appointed guest bedrooms with comfortable double beds, authentic decoration and fittings, and with tea and coffee making facilities. All rooms have their private bathroom with Victorian fittings - roll top baths but no showers. The large drawing room is available for guests, with an open fire in the winter. Wifi is freely available. The full English breakfast is served in the dining room from silver serving dishes, in the manner of a Victorian country house. Evening meals are provided on request, as well as meals for parties, residential or not.

The large walled garden is available for guests to use. It has a summer house as well as two glasshouses, and even a small chapel. It is a very peaceful, quiet place for tranquil relaxation.

St.Leonards on Sea was established as a seaside resort in the Regency period, and many fine streets were added in the 1880s to make it a highly desirable resort. Today it is a centre for artists and antique hunters, with several good restaurants. Nearby Hastings has an attractive 'Old Town' with the new Jerwood Gallery on the fishing beach.

The nearest railway station is St.Leonards Warrior Square, served by trains from London Charing Cross, London Victoria, Brighton and Ashford. Transport from the station may be possible, on request. Access is straightforward from the A21 to London and from the A259 coast road from either east or west.

St.Benedict is a very unusual and special venue for a day or two at the coast or for a longer stay.
