On top of a cliff overlooking the English Channel with amazing views of the sea, Sea Glint is in an idyllic setting.

Within a couple of minutes of Hastings Country Park, it is the perfect spot for coastal cliff walks. Located between Hastings and historic Rye, Sea Glint is a great location for exploring 1066 Country and all that the South coast has to offer.

You enter the property through a large porch, with storage for boots and shoes, which leads into the hallway. Off the hallway you have two ground floor bedrooms consisting of one twin, which can be converted into a double bed, and one double bedroom. Stairs lead up to the master bedroom, with amazing sea views, a family bathroom and a sitting room. The sitting room is double aspect, with views to the rear garden and to the front, sea views, along with a balcony.

Back downstairs, the ground floor living area is open plan and spacious. There is a modern, large kitchen area, dining area, sitting area with comfy sofas in front of the woodburning stove and a sunroom space, which doubles up as a play area. The back of the house benefits from French doors, to enjoy the garden on those balmy summer evenings. There are two WCs downstairs, one under the stairs outside the twin bedroom and an additional one off the utility room. The utility room can be used for bicycle storage if required.

The garden is laid to lawn, with a large, decked area directly outside the French doors off the kitchen area, the perfect spot for a summer BBQ. There is plenty of space for children to run about, if they haven't been worn out by a day visiting the many attractions that the property has on its doorstep.

The South East England region

The house is within minutes of the coastal footpath that runs along the sandstone cliff edge, and with peaceful walks along the cliff top, in Hastings Country Park the glorious views out to sea are breathtaking.

Fairlight is a small village on the coast amidst breathtaking rolling hills, three miles east of Hastings with its nearby villages of Pett and Pett Level that are equally picturesque. The area forms part of the Hastings Country Park Nature Reserve that stretches from Hastings to Cliff End where there is access to the beach at Pett Level. Further east there are long stretches of beach towards Winchelsea making it very popular with walkers and those interested in wildlife.

The Country Park has over 267 hectares of ancient woodland, heathland and grassland together with three miles (5km) of dramatic cliffs and coastline. Lying within the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, most of the park has been designated a Special Area of Conservation, a Site of Special Scientific Interest and is a designated Local Nature Reserve. Hastings is only five miles to the west. Hastings Old Town sits at the foot of the Hastings Cliff Railways, the East Lift in fact links the Old Town with the Country Park and the railway is currently Britain's steepest.

Hastings Old Two is full of historic buildings and quaint streets and is particularly famous for its beach fishing fleet, the largest in Europe. Much of the tradition has been kept and the net drying huts are today preserved at the top of the beach and sit amongst the many fresh fish stores at the foot of the cliffs. The Shipwreck and Coastal Heritage Museum is also found here and worth visiting; we carry a link under our 'Places to visit' section.

The medieval town of Rye is 8 miles away and a visit to the Heritage Centre is a must, where you can watch the town model's 'Sound and Light' show, which goes into detail about the history and the colourful past of Rye and its inhabitants. Or amble around the many antique shops in the Strand Quay and hunt out a bargain!

This whole area is of course 1066 Country and we could comment forever about what there is to see and do. Suffice to say, no visit would be complete without a trip to Battle and Battle Abbey.

Hastings, Sussex

Sussex is in the south east of England stretching along the English Channel from Rye in the east to Chichester Harbour and Emsworth in the west with many fine blue flag beaches in between.

The chalk downland of the South Downs National Park cover a large part of Sussex from where they meet the sea at Beachy Head in East Sussex through to the Hampshire border near South Harting in the west.

Chichester is the cathedral city of Sussex and Brighton and Hove on the Sussex coast is considered to be one of the most cosmopolitan cities in Europe. Arundel and Lewes are two historic towns within the county both have imposing castles and are popular towns to visit.

The climate enjoyed in Sussex is above the average for Great Britain, which makes it ideal for visiting throughout the year.
