The South East England / Sussex region

The weather in Sussex is some of the best in Great Britain: it has on average more sunshine than any other mainland county.
The Hastings, Sussex / Guestling area
For those staying at The Dairy there is so much to do in the local area. For nature lovers and walkers this Sussex location must be one of the best, there are local ancient woodlands and so much wonderful wildlife to watch. Pett Level beach in East Sussex is lovely and at low tide you can even see the remains of the prehistoric submerged forest. Winchelsea a short drive away has more beaches as well as being an interesting historical town to visit. The Sussex town of Rye, not far from this holiday cottage is full of interesting winding cobbled streets, restaurants and cafes. It is even possible to buy fresh fish direct from the harbour including the famous Rye Bay scallops. Hastings a few miles to the west is a wonderful seaside town to explore and it still has so much charm and character. For children there is the Sea Life Centre and all the traditional seaside amusements to keep them happy and naturally many delicious Fish and Chip shops!
