Prestwick Cottage Oak Barns are recently converted oak framed, self contained units with luxurious limestone wetrooms and contemporary kitchens within the grounds of Prestwick Lodge, the former lodge house to what was originally a country estate. They are situated next to Prestwick Farm, a working sheep farm, along a country lane between Chiddingfold and 16th century Haslemere town centre, which boasts lovely boutique shops and coffee houses along with Waitrose, Tescos and other amenities such as Sports Centres.
We are ideally placed to explore The Surrey Hills and West Sussex, and everything the South Coast has to offer. Being on Surrey County Council public footpath 200, there are loads of wonderful walks to local country pubs: The Mulberry, owned by Chris Evans, The Crown and The Swan in Chiddingfold, or The Hollist in Lodsworth, The Sun in Dunsfold, The Duke of Cumberland in Fernhurst, Merry Harriers in Hambledon, The White Horse in Hascombe and The Dog and Pheasant in Brook. The surrounding locality is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and consists mainly of wooded Downland. Many hills are within walking distance and afford breath-taking views across the Weald towards the South coast.
National Trust land at Blackdown is two miles away with far reaching views of the Isle of Wight on a clear day. There's Hindhead Punchbowl and Surrey and Hascombe Hills within striking distance and its only 40 minutes to Chichester and the South Coast at West Wittering or Hayling Island or East Head. Chiddingfold is a very picturesque and traditional Surrey village, where life seems to revolve around the 'Green'. There you will find the pond, the church, the village shops and one of the prettiest and oldest pubs in the South East of England.
Prestwick Cottage has a post and rail, enclosed garden overlooking views to Hascombe Hills, if you want to relax or perhaps you'd like to cook your own dinner or full english brekkie over the firepit or on the BBQ and eat it on the terrace.
