About this location
The Yorkshire region
The house is in the centre of the Spa town of Harrogate. We are just across the road, 1min. from both the Turkish Baths and the famous Betty's café. There is a theatre and a cinema, and there are numerous restaurants and bars within 5 minutes walk from the house.
For those of you who are exhibiting at the Conference Centre or performing at the Royal Hall, they are at the bottom of the hill, 5 mins walk, or if you are performing at the Wesley Chapel it is 1 minute away.
Harrogate has large grassed parkland areas that curl round the town and come right into the centre, and there are also gardens, the Valley Gardens that are very well maintained with an excellent playground if you have children. On the outskirts of town there is an RHS garden, Harlow Carr so there are plenty of very enjoyable walking spaces if you like to walk or run every day.
Harrogate is also a very pleasant town to enjoy a shopping experience, we have a wide variety of excellent clothes shops and interiors shops and number of very fine bespoke kitchen and kitchen gadget shops!
For the evening there is plenty of choice for wining, dining, dancing, and concert or theatre going. This is a very fine town for romancing, resting, shopping, working and playing and you could be staying right in the very centre!
Harrogate is the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales so there are unspoilt hilltop villages with sweeping views, open moors and verdant valleys with rivers running through them.
If you love a big walk with a pub lunch or a picnic, or if you want to take wonderful landscape photographs or if you want to test your cycling skills along the route of the 2014 Tour de france, then you will long to escape into the Dales by day and come home to Harrogate and a fine meal or a Turkish Bath in the evenings.
If you prefer to walk round the stately homes and atmospheric ruins of England; we have Ripley Castle, Markenfield Hall, Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal with Hackfall Wood, Newby Hall and Gardens, and Harewood House with its Italian Garden, Aviary, more secret gardens with hidden paths, waterfalls and a lake, all within 20-30 minutes drive.
There is more than enough to keep everyone happy in Yorkshire.
