The North Wales / Snowdonia / Gwynedd region

Snowdonia National Park is the largest park in Wales covering around 840sq miles. Within this region there are stunning blue flag beaches close by, breath taking mountains and quaint little welsh villages.

A short drive away is the Italianate resort village Portmeirion, the famous location for the filming of the 1960's tv series The Prisoner starring Patrick Magoon. It is easy to see why Portmeirion is a top tourist attraction. Also close by is the town of Blaenau Ffestiniog which boasts several tourist attractions including Ffestiniog railway, and the Llechwedd slate caverns - a former slate mine open to visitors.

Further around the north welsh coast is the large seaside village of Abersoch, popular for windsurfing, jet-skiing and surfing. The village also has bars, restaurants, shops, cafes and an 18 hole golf course. Boat trips around St. Tudwal's islands to see the seals and other wildlife are also available from Abersoch.

Harlech / Talsarnau area

Harlech is a small town and seaside resort best known for it's castle. Along the winding streets of Harlech there are cafes and tea rooms and shops where you can purchase anything from antiques to local craft work. Theatre Harlech is located on the Coleg Harlech campus and stages a varied selection of plays, music and films throughout the year. Harlech is also home to the famous Royal St. David's Golf Club.

"Blue, blue skies – an absolute treat – plus ... stunning views over the estuary to Portmerion. A fabulous house made to share with good friends and family. Lovely walks with just the lambs and birds for company. Fantastic bike ride at Coed y Brenin, there’s plenty to explore. Hope we’ll be back to discover more soon."

"Fantastic weather, wonderful house and great company. Breathtaking views from the top of the hill behind the house. Wish we had bought some smart clothes so we could’ve eaten at the hotel next door. Nevermind ... Next time!"
