The North Wales region

North Wales is a great combination of the family seaside resorts, which extend along its northern coastline and of course the magnificent mountains that make up Snowdonia Nation Park. Also located in this region are the very distinctive Island of Anglesey and the Lleyn Peninsula. So visitors will find a diverse holiday destination that caters for many different types of holidays from the family beach holiday to serious climbing holidays, and lots in between. There are plenty of things to do here; walking, sailing, fishing and many indoor attractions for the children. Wildlife enthusiasts will not be disappointed, with Anglesey and the Lleyn peninsula in particular being rich in diverse mix of habitats.

This area is the perfect holiday destination for beach lovers as a selection of lovely beaches are all within easy driving distance. The huge stretch of sandy coastline at nearby Harlech for example, is a definite ‘must visit' as is the iconic Harlech Castle which boasts a rich and varied heritage. Indeed lovers of historic buildings are spoilt for choice in this region of Wales as to the north lie the majestic castles of Caernarfon- a designated World Heritage Site- Beaumaris, and Conwy. To the east lies one of the most stunning landscapes to be found in the whole of the UK- Snowdonia National Park. This is the location for a bewildering array of outdoor pursuits and of course offers sublime walking and cycling country. Whilst beautiful places are in abundance here, well worth the drive is the idyllic settlement of Betws-y-Coed. Younger children will love the local miniature railway whilst older visitors will find the sublime riverside walks an absolute highlight of their holiday
