We love our house and we are sure that you will too. It is famous locally and has a colourful history reputedly being used as a rehearsal studio by some of the biggest bands of the 1960's.
Built as a boathouse and stables it was finally converted to a house in 1972 and brought up to date by us when we arrived in 2000. It boasts generous floor space and has tremendous character.
It offers the best of the countryside but allows easy access to the delights of London. Whatever your interest you will be able to indulge it here.

The house maximises living space.
Downstairs is open plan and includes kitchen, lounge and dining area. This allows sociable cooking, eating and lounging.
In the summer we open the french doors onto the rear walled garden and eat outside weather permitting.
Also on the ground floor is a double or twin bedroom with en suite bathroom, a wc and the greenhouse.
The laundry facilities are also separated from the main room.
Upstairs is one large lounge for relaxing. From here there is access to the full length front balcony with views over the River Thames.
At the end of the main lounge is a separate double bedroom with en suite shower and wc.
Both bedrooms are intentionally compact so that we could retain the maximum living space. Upstairs we have used a small double bed and downstairs a kingsize double. There is however space to walk around both beds. If needed the downstairs bed can be separated into two singles. Please ask if you would prefer this set up.
Please do not book if you need large bedrooms. See photographs.

The Middlesex region
London is one of the great capitals of the world.
The best urban parks in the world, museums and art galleries, street entertainment, architecture and many landmarks are free.
If you want to spend your money there are tourist attractions, theatres, shops, concerts, pubs, cafe's and restaurants.
Originally a series of villages surrounding the ancient city these have now been absorbed into the expanding metropolis but retain there own distinct original character. Areas like Notting Hill, Richmond, Brixton and Mayfair are as different from each other as they are famous.
Every Borough has its famous residents, its historic links and something special to offer a visitor.
London will entertain you, excite you and leave you needing to come back again, soon.
Hampton Court, home of Henry Vlll, is the obvious attraction in this area. The Maze and gardens are almost as famous as the house and attract thousands of visitors every year. The Palace also hosts the annual flower show in July which rivals Chelsea in its size and reputation.
The area is well served culturally with theatres in Kingston and Richmond. There is live music at a variety of venues, ranging from pubs and clubs to Hampton Court's summer festival.
Sport is very popular in the area which attracts runners and rowers from all over the world. Bushy Park is the main focus for the runners and boasts a weekly, free 5km race every Saturday at 9am. Boat clubs are strung all the way along the Thames the nearest being Molesey Boat Club.
Those less competitive can swim at Hampton Heated outdoor pool just near the house, or just stroll in Bushy Park and admire the deer and other wildlife which live in this huge open space. In the summer it is a popular place to picnic and there is often a cricket match to give you an authentic English experience.
If the kids get bored and you want to venture further afield, Legoland, and Thorpe Park are a short drive away. Kew Gardens now features an aerial treetop walkway and of course central London is an easy day out by train.

"Character, charm, homely, quirky, awesome location and super friendly owners....we couldn't have asked for more!"
We stayed in the Studio for 2 weeks on a long trip with our small children to the UK. It was by far the highlight of our holiday and we will definitely return again one day. Thank you for the early check in (so needed after 33 hours travelling), and the welcome wine and basics! Thank you also for the little cot bed for our daughter...so thoughtful and accomodating. The cottage was stocked to a very high level and really felt like a home from home. We had so many people come and visit us, and the large table accomodated 12 of us for dinner! Talking of dinner, please try The Cook Shop in Teddington for freshly cooked family meals. They even deliver! The quality of the property was superb and was very comfortable. The garden was a delight. We very much look forward to our next stay!

"Comfort, Charm and Contentment"
This property is in an area filled with anything you might want. We are couch potatoes and found we could walk to everything with very little effort. It's a breeze to see a play in London or to walk to Hampton Gate Palace and Gardens. The Thames is an amazing attraction and could easily take-up all your time, renting a boat or taking a ferry and exploring the 184 miles of it. It's impossible to describe the character of this house but it has been lovingly decorated with the most interesting antiques and art. The fact that all rooms connect to the outdoors makes this an amazing home.

"Softest landing possible"
'The Studio' was the place where we landed when moving to Britain. And it was the softest, coziest and warmest landing anyone could ever ask for. The cottage is absolutely lovely, and the owners make every effort to make you feel well assisted as well as independent. One can notice their thoughtful touch in every charming corner of the house. And as far as the location is concerned, Hampton is a wise choice: close enough to London so as to allow you to enjoy the capital's many attractions, while far enough to give you a taste of small town England. We enthusiastically recommend 'The Studio'.

"Perfect Christmas retreat"
We found The Studio to be a fabulous place to spend some time with family over Christmas. The Property itself is unique, with great style and class. The owners had thought of everything to ensure our stay was a good one. From a fully decorated Christmas tree to mince pies. The finishing touches made us feel at home. The Studio is stylish and at the same time very comfortable. I would highly recommend it to anyone.
