The Hampshire region

The southern part of Hampshire from Portsmouth to Poole is full of great cities, amazing countryside and a wealth of maritime history. Portsmouth has the Historic Dockyard and the pristine Spinnaker Tower, side by side. Within a twenty minute drive is Paultons (Theme) Park, the home of Peppa Pig World, near Romsey. It is a real favourite with children staying in Rose Cottage.

Hamble, in Central Southern England is very well placed for an ideal holiday break. Hampshire is a beautiful county. Whilst staying in a village you can be riding, golfing or walking in wonderful surroundings or enjoying all the attractions in the cities of Southampton, Winchester and Portsmouth, all within half an hour's drive

Taking part in Cowes Week, The Hamble Regatta (Hamble Week), Round the Island Race, The Southampton Boat Show? Rose Cottage is a great self catering base, through Holiday lettings

Back in the village of Hamble; you can wander down to the foreshore on a Sunday morning maybe, buy a cafetiere of coffee, croissants and sit and watch the hive of activity that is the river. If you are not sailing, why not take the Pink river taxi up river to the 'The Jolly Sailor' (of Howard's Way fame) If you love home baking, you could do no better than to get to the village Hall market 10am -11am Fri , where you will find lots of home produce.

Many thanks for the nice review. I like to make sure there is plenty of equipment in the kitchen for entertaining and regularly update the decoration and furniture. I will be very pleased for you to stay next time you are in Hamble.

"Provided adequite accommodation for one week stay"

Nice cottage spoilt by poor shower and inadequite kitchen facilities - lacks pots and pans! House is nice but needs some maintenance as stayed there during period of sustained heavy rain. Location good and easy to reach - central for the Hampshire area.

"Very comfortable home away from home"

Great house, with comfortable beds and everything provided. Easily accessible to the city and you could get away without a vehicle as the bus stop is close by. Great provision of linen and necessary items in the kitchen. Looks better than portrayed in photographs.
Lovely location near the Hamble foreshore with its variety of typical English pubs and other style restaurants.
Irene was wonderful to deal with and gave good directions as to how to find the house, along with well sourced information and maps of the area.
Overall an excellent experience. Only minor negative is that a coffee table would have been useful.

"A lovely cottage in a pretty area"

Irene and husband were very helpful and kind. The welcome package was much appreciated. The cottage and garden were delightful. Excellent value. Quiet area. Some great pubs and restaurants nearby. The Bugle has some lovely food. Fox and Hounds in Hungerford and Jolly Sailor are a must.
