The Hamble le Rice area
With a rich aviation and maritime heritage, the riverside village of Hamble-le-Rice is located just 7 miles (11 km) to the east of the cosmopolitan city of Southampton, and 10 miles (16 km) from Southampton Airport.
Boasting no less than three world class marinas along the banks of the River Hamble, in addition to numerous sailing and yacht clubs, the area remains one of the most recognised yachting centres along the south coast of England.
The bustling village centre features an assortment of shops, pubs, restaurants, and beauty salons, together with banking and postal services. There's even a launderette inside the King & Queen public house.
The sympathetic mix of modern and older buildings afford a charm unique to Hamble. The central square leads enticingly down the cobbled high street to the quay, where visitors can take in the superb river and marina views while fishing for crabs, or relaxing with a picnic on the riverside lawn as the world sails by.
Visitors can also meet the crew of Hamble Lifeboat, providing an independent rescue service to yachting crews and sailors for over forty years, or take a trip up the Hamble River to Howards Way country with Blue Star Boats and enjoy the beauty of the river.
For those with a passion for walking there are the scenic delights of the Strawberry Trail, coastal walks through to Royal Victoria Country Park in Netley Abbey, and of course the beautiful open countryside of Hamble Common.

By Car: from the M27 exit at Junction 8 and follow the B3397 south into Hamble village.
By Boat: Visitors mooring available at Port Hamble Marina and at various places close to the village. Consult your almanac for details
By Train: There is a small train station at Hamble outside the perimeter of the village. Onward travel into the village should be pre-planned and arranged for the arrival of your train.
Southampton Airport: Flights from overseas and many parts of the UK arrive at Southampton. Car hire or taxi from the airport is recommended.

Booking is made direct with Stay in Hamble. £35 booking fee, 6 weeks prior to occupancy.
You will be sent a Booking Form, which you will need to check for accuracy and send it back to us. On receipt of the booking, Stay in Hamble will confirm in via email, whereupon you are liable for the total holiday rental. At this stage 33% of the rental amount plus the booking fee are payable, and no booking is finally confirmed until these deposit funds have been received into the bank account. The remainder of the Holiday Rental plus the Security Deposit is due five weeks before the start date.
Where indicated and advised a security deposit of £150 is payable at the same time and in addition to the payment of the holiday rental. The security deposit is held by the agency to cover any losses, damage, and/or additional cleaning if the property is left in an unsatisfactory condition.
