About the home

This beautiful apartment is located on the magnificent Jack Nicklaus designed 18 hole par 72 golf course
in tranquil family friendly surroundings, directly overlooking the pool. It is fully air conditioned with high quality furnishings throughout plus a fully equipped kitchen and luxury bathroom. The single beds in the master bedroom can be easily joined together to make a double on request.

The terrace has outdoor dining furniture and sunloungers. The comfortable living/dining room has Cable TV and a sofa bed. On the resort there is a shop and bar/restaurant. A short drive away there are stunning beaches, mountains and the cities of Murcia and Cartagena to explore.

The Murcia region

The Murcia region is located on the Costa Calida (Warm Coast). Protected by the surrounding mountains it has a unique Mediterranean micro climate averaging a mild 21c and boasting over 300 days of sunshine per year, making it an all year round holiday location.

The The Mar Menor is separated from the Mediterranean by a strip of sand 22km long (La Manga), which forms a barrier creating a shallow, warm lagoon. The water temperature here is on average 5 degrees warmer than the Med. The Mar Menor is no more than 8m at its deepest point; with sandy blue flag beaches and no tide. The family friendly beaches are within easy reach by car (25mins) Perfect for sun bathing, swimming and enjoying various water sports.

Golf - In this region 14 golf courses are open with more being built. These include Roda Beach & Golf and Torre Del Rame in Los Alcazares itself, and Hacienda del Alamo, Polaris World Courses (Mar Menor, La Torre, El Valle and Hacienda Riquelme), Mosa Trajectum, La Manga (which actually has 3 courses alone), Campoamor and Villamartin, all within a 25-30 minute drive. Adjacent to Hacienda Riquelme is the new Seve Ballesteros course, Peraleja Golf.

San Pedro Del Pinatar - There is a nature reserve and mud baths with healing properties in the salt flat area . Flamingos are also in abundance.

Los Alcazares - 5 minutes drive south of San Javier airport .Alongside the beach is a mile long promenade. There is a large marina, excellent shops, restaurants and bars, and a new shopping mall complete with cinema. Each October, the town celebrates its municipal independence, granted in 1983, with a spectacular week long fiesta.

Murcia - (25 minutes drive or by train from Balsicas) is a cosmopolitan city rich in culture, with wonderful architecture, vibrant night life, fantastic shops and tapas bars, and even a casino.There is a stunning cathedral with year-round exhibitions. A New Water park (Terra Aqua Murcia) and Animal park (Terra Natura Murcia) provide a great day out for the family and only 25 minutes from the resort. For those who love to shop, there is a new shopping complex with approx. 200 stores. Football fans can watch Real Murcia play top division games in a brand new stadium against the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Cartagena - A busy maritime port steeped in history, it is undergoing regeneration. Take a stroll through the narrow cobbled streets and pedestrian areas with new modern boutique style shops. The National Marine Archaeology Museum can be found here. The Jazz festival is held in November.

The Hacienda Riquelme Golf Resort / Polaris World, Hacienda Riquelme area

Surrounded by beautiful mountains in a tranquil countryside location, Hacienda Riquelme Golf Resort is designed around a 19th Century, colonial style building. This former residence of the Riquelme Family is now undergoing restoration by Polaris World so as to preserve the heritage of this traditional Murcian Estate.

Hacienda Riquelme is near to the towns of Sucina and Balsicas, and to the airports of Murcia (San Javier) only 25 mins away and Alicante 60 mins away by car.

The resort is perfect for families providing a safe environment due to the efficient 24 hours access security system which is constantly patrolled by well qualified staff and backed up with full CCTV coverage.

The 18 hole Hacienda Riquelme Golf Course, designed by Jack Nicklaus Design is a par 72 and 6416m course built to professional standards. The course covers an area of 71 hectares and has a stunning mountain backdrop and panoramic views of the coast. This course is one of a group of six golf courses that make up some of the best in Europe. It is different from the others, providing ample fairways combined with hard to approach greens, and bunkers ready to challenge your game. The course is surrounded by wild flowers, olive trees and stunning lakes.

Other golfing amenities include a driving range, golf academy and pro-golf shop on the resort, however, whilst staying at Hacienda Riquelme you are able to use the amenities and play at reduced rates at La Torre Golf Course, El Valle Golf Course or Mar Menor Golf Course. A courtesy coach is provided to transport golfers and holidaymakers to and from these resorts.

At Hacienda Riquelme the fanastic new town centre is OPEN. The new facilities include funky bars, quality restaurant, supermarket and pro-shop. The sports area is open including tennis courts and outdoor gym.

If you wish to explore further, there is an excellent shopping centre in San Javier (Dos Mares) where you will find a hypermarket, ten pin bowling, fast food restaurants, bars and a cinema as well as a host of other shops. Alternatively, take advantage of the free shuttle bus service to any of the other Polaris World Golf Resorts where you’ll find a variety of bars, restaurants and entertainment.
