The Costa Calida/Murcia region
The Region of Murcia Costa Calida, Spain. Murcia is one of the smaller regions of Spain and nowhere is more than about one and a half hours from Murcia Airport (San Javier) which is located on the coast of the Mar Menor. The coastal area of Murcia is known as the Costa Calida or “Warm Coast”.
It stretches from the largest lagoon in Europe (the Mar Menor) around the La Manga Strip and along the Mediterranean coast to Aguilas in the south.

The villages around the Mar Menor have been tourist destinations for the Spanish for many years. The beautiful beaches of resorts such as Lo Pagan, Santiago de La Ribera and Los Alcazares (a resort even in Roman times) are on the crystal clear Mar Menor.
The Mar Menor is open to the sea at it’s northern end and is quite shallow (maximum depth of 7m), so it is excellent for children as it’s beaches shelve very gently. In the summer, the waters are literally like a warm bath.
Hacienda Riquelme Golf Resort area
Just a short drive away from the apartment will take you into Sucina. The village is typically Spanish with small tapas bars and a few restaurants. In the centre of the village is the church and side streets where you will find banks. You will also find the following shops.
Supermarket, Petrol station, Pharmacy, Tobacconist, Bakery, Bars/Restaurants
As you drive out of the village you can head for the mountains for spectacular scenery, ideal for cycle enthusiasts, bird watchers, and touring.

Further details outdoors: This apartment directly overlooks 3 lovely large linked pools from the terrace and small grassed area. There are many different pools to choose from all different shapes and sizes. A short walk away is an indoor gym, tennis courts, across the road there is a children's play area, which is one of many. There is a courtesy bus stop just outside the apartment block, which takes you to the other Polaris resorts free of charge. Ideal for golfers wanting the sample the 'bear trail', or for a change of scenery. La Torre resort has a 5* hotel with all that you would expect from a 5* hotel. There is a small but ample shop for all your groceries, and currently the old hacienda is being restored into a fabulous town centre with shops, restaurants and bars.
