The Penang Island region

Penang, also famously known as 'The Pearl of The Orient', recently acquired the UNECSO historic city status. This unique island has plenty of activities to offer.

You can take a stroll on Gurney Drive, have some water sports at the beaches at Batu Ferringhi, horse riding on the beach or simply explore the city Georgetown. Penang is tourist friendly and English is widely spoken.

-Most major international airlines fly to Penang, Malaysia. Eg. Emirates via Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia airlines, Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Thai Airways. Destination is Penang International Airport.

- Recommended budget airline, Air Asia (www.airasia.com) serves flights from London to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Penang is only approximately an hour flight from Kuala Lumpur, also served by Air Asia. Very attractive and affordable rates available. Air Asia has a wide range of flights serving South East Asia.

-Car rental companies (Hertz, www.magicgreen.com.my)

-Apartment is in Gurney Drive area, prime location on the island. Gurney drive is easily accessible by cab from the Penang International Airport. Expect approximately 30km, 30-40 mins trip. Cab fees, approximately RM50/ 10 Euros.
