Gurnard Marsh is an area on the north shore of Isle of Wight just to the west of Cowes. It is an ideal location for many different types of visitors including families, walkers and ramblers, cyclists and dinghy sailors. It has long been a popular holiday spot with rows of beach side chalets dating back to the 1920's, but now most of the old rail carriages and timber chalets have now gone. The replacement buildings are built to today's standards but designed to be in keeping with the beach side chalets they replaced.

"Simply Amazing!"

Our trip in August 2013 was our second time staying at Seawinds and the second time we had our hearts stolen away by this stunning property situated in an idyllic corner of the Isle of Wight. Clean, comfortable and well equipped, the property is perfectly located just yards from the sea, great for crabbing and affording beautiful views over the Solent, especially the sunsets.

The owners, Carl and Michele, are very welcoming and helpful, from offering to arrange our ferries to providing a much appreciated welcome pack of wine, chocolate and local beer! On arrival and throughout our stays, they always went out of their way to ensure we were settled and had everything we needed.

Great property, lovely location, fabulous owners, perfect!

"Seawinds is a great base to see the Island and to come home to such comfort is a bonus!"

Carl and Michelle made us feel very welcome as soon as we arrived at Seawinds, which was dead on 2pm (the time we were allowed in the property), everything was clean, and very much like a home from home with lovely little touches. The view from the front of the property is great as you get to watch all the local folks taking their boats out, and in the evenings the sunsets are gorgeous! Everyone in our experience was really friendly on the Island and we would definitely recommend the IOW to friends and most definitely Seawinds as a place to stay.

"Perfect seaside retreat"

We have just returned from a weekend stay in gorgeous Seawinds. Not only is the location perfect - a stones throw from the sea - the cottage has everything you need for a seaside holiday. Highly recommended!

"This is THE life...."

It was our first visit ti the IOW and Carl was very helpful with the booking process and offered to arrange the ferry tickets. We did not have any problems finding this place as we drive and had a sat nav. Michele came to say hello when we arrived and to make sure everything was ok. Being a family with young children, this house is perfect in size. It is very clean, comfortable and well equipped so all you need to bring is yourself.

The sunsets in Gurnard are very beautiful and there are lovely walks near the house, it is located away enough from the busy parts of IOW and a good house to come back to after a day out.

We have seen different places in IOW but we will still choose to stay here when we return.
