Cornwall is famous for its beautiful coastline of granite cliffs and golden beaches with the bonus of a unique landscape of moorland and sub-tropical valleys. Using Honicombe as your base, coastal towns and villages offer a great day by the sea. The open spaces of Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor beckon. National Trust properties suchas Cotehele and Buckland Abbey are a short drive away. A little further afield there are Llanhydrock, the Lost Gardens of Heligan and great attractions like the Eden Project, Flambards and the Seal Sanctuary.

Less than 2 miles from Honicombe is the River Tamar which, with the River Tavey and River Lynher, forms part of the ancient border between Cornwall and Devon. The river runs from the north coast near Bude, south into Plymouth Sound. These rivers form The Tamar Valley which was designated as an 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty' (AONB) in 1995. In the valley there are great walks and purpose built mountain bike trails to be enjoyed. There is also a regular service on the scenic rail route down the valley from Gunnislake to Plymouth. In 2006 The Tamar Valley was awarded World Heritage Status in recognition of its importance as a mining area in the 19th Century. It is a great area for your family holiday with so much to enjoy!

The property is centrally heated and has fantastic views from the upstairs lounge out towards Dartmoor. This bright and spacious living area has ample comfortable seating, television with freeview, DVD player and a stereo music system. There are books, CDs, DVDs, games and puzzles in case you have a spare moment or two.

Also upstairs, the kitchen is bright, well laid out and very well equipped with an electric cooker, microwave, fridge, toaster, kettle, cutlery, crockery, glasses and cooking utensils, in fact all you need to make you feel at home. A washing machine, steam iron and ironing board are provided should you need them. The dining area has a large table and benches, perfect for family meals.

Downstairs there is a good sized double bedroom with a double bed, large wardrobe and chest of drawers. The second and third bedrooms are of a similar size with comfortable 3' wide divan beds, wardrobes and chests of drawers.

There is a bathroom with bath, toilet and washbasin. The bath has a shower over it and there is also a separate shower room with a toilet, washbasin and electric shower.

Extras: There is a selection of children's toys and books, and a high chair, travel cot and safety gate for the stairs.

Gunnislake

The Tamar Valley is an area rich in beauty and history, possessing some of the finest scenery in the British Isles. The valley of the River Tamar - and its tributaries, the Tavy and Lynher - is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and much of the area forms part of the Cornish Mining World Heritage Site.

The Tamar Valley offers a unique combination of breathtaking natural beauty, history and industrial heritage. Quiet villages, bustling towns full of quirky shops, beaches, moors, ancient harbours, magnificent industrial heritage and quiet country walks can all be found within a few short miles of the river.

The Valley offers something for everyone.
