About this location
The Turkish Aegean Coast region
The Bodrum Peninsula is an amazing area. From markets to world class marinas. Archeological sites to water parks. The choice is yours. Go on one of the many boat trips offered or take the morning ferry over to Kos. Maybe book yourself on a tour to Efesus and Pamukalli. Whatever you do you will be left amazed by the hospitality, the beauty and the magic that will envelop you.
Whether you hire a car or take the Dolmus (local and excellent bus service) you can explore all over the peninsular, eating wonderful fresh fish caught that morning or picking huge ripe figs straight from the tree. What ever it is you do, Turkey will certainly leave its mark on you and you will not be able to wait to come back.
Gundogan is a traditional, bustling fishing village, that has sympathetically grown over recent years. With many facilities along the beach and numerous reastuarants to try, it is hard to find the time to visit other places. But you should. Take a walk to the other side of the bay, past the Bhaia Bodrum hotel to a little cafe called Calimera. Sit, enjoy the view, an ice cold beer and a fantastic huge feta salad. All for just a few lira.
Why not take a boat trip from along the quay, visit the local area, snorkle in the crystal waters and enjoy lunch. A great day out.
Visit the caves at the top end of Gundogan, a treasure not to be missed.

"Superb villa for a great holiday"
Mrs I'Anson is the owner who also stays in the villa for her summer vocation. Though Bodrum is very hot during the day, the villa's heat insulated walls provide a very comfortable temprature inside. Besides every room and the lounge area have seperate A/C units. The location is perfect. Within a one minute walk you reach the sandy beaches of Gundogan. There are many sights to see around Gundogan. By car maximum 30 minutes you arrive akyarlar, guvercinlik, gumusluk, bodrum inner city and the castle, ortakent, dedeman aqua center (highly recommended), torba etc etc. Boat trips are bonus. Jackie (the owner) is very polite, is always eager to help and is fast to reply from booking step to collecting keys. Thanks her to share her house with us.

We thought villa was in a great location with friendly neighbours.House was well equipped for a holiday stay and the water bottle and pump was very useful and the BBQ was a great addition. We spent most of our time on the beach which I must say is one of the nicest beaches in Bodrum with free sunbeds and not as packed out as all the other beaches seemed.
We are hoping to go back soon. Many thanks.

"Amazing villa for all the family, well located with friendly locals, great bars/restaurants + great weather"
Having two very young children (3 and 1 years old) my wife and I are always a little nervous when staying somewhere new. However, I should not have been worried! The drive from the airport was not long - we hired a car from Hertz. On arrival at the villa we were met very early in the morning by a lovely ex-pat (a friend of the villa's owner) who showed us around the villa before leaving us to it.
The villa has 3 good sized bedrooms and gets a great deal of sun during the day. Lovely kitchen with everything you need and very comfortable living room.
This is is an ideal location from which to explore the penninsula from the amazing abandoned village (Sandima) - hard to locate the track and a visit by car but well worth the effort) to Bodrum castle and town.
There is enough to do in the area easily for the 10 days we were there and I'm sure we still had lots exploring we could have done!
The driving is an adventure and not for the feint hearted but after a day you get into the swing of things!
However you can choose to stay local to the villa. There are some great, well priced bars/restaurants and a beech which really is only a minutes walk from the Villa. On the bars / restaurants the waiters are just fantastic with children. They genuinely like to see kids! At first it can feel a bit weird having been used to UK restaurants where kids are more of a pest and inconvenience to go somewhere where they talk, laugh and joke with your children. I wish they were the same in the UK.
I also haven;t mentioned the weather - it was clear blue skies on our week. fantastic

"Our fourth visit to this lovely villa - I think that says it all. Its ticks all the right boxes for us"
We have just returned from our fourth visit to the Olive Tree. The villa and location are absolutely brilliant, literally 150 paces to the sea and less to the local shops where you can get everything… More
