The Turkish Aegean Coast region
Renowned for its fishing as well as its many aquatic leisure pursuits Turkey's Turquoise Coast offers a mix of ancient sites, small unspoiled villages, bustling market towns and spectacularly beautiful scenery. From May to October there is virtually no rain and almost unbroken sunshine. Temperature highs range from 21C in April and November to 34C in July and August. In the summer months the temperature of the crystal clear Aegean Sea is around 25C.
Bodrum is approximately 40 minutes by road from Güllük and is served by both a regular bus service at around 7TL (£2.40) or private taxi at around 100TL (£35). A world renowned destination Bodrum mixes historic sites (such as the castle, Mausoleum and amphitheatre) with modern open air bars and clubs around the marina and great holiday shopping at both designer shops and bazaars.
Güllük itself has a marina with a number of good quality bars, restaurants, clubs and cafes along the waterfront. Boat trips from a few hours duration to the whole day can be arranged from Güllük, the resort itself or Bodrum.
