Shepherds Rest offers stunning accommodation in a perfect location for up to four guests. The rooms are all large and spacious with an abundance of features that makes this property full of both charm and character. There are exposed beams, stone walling and trusses throughout and a wood burning stove in the open plan lounge for a great place to unwind in the evening. Under floor heating is a great advantage of this barn conversion as it keeps those toes warm even on the chilliest of nights! The bathroom is full of quirky character with many wooden features yet it offers ultimate luxury with a large corner bath and walk in shower. The rooms are also light and airy with the master bedroom situating a four poster bed and leads to a balcony with steps down to the garden. There is also furniture within the balcony which is perfect for a romantic dinner outside whilst surrounded by the spectacular views. Within the garden there is also more furniture and pond.

Starter pack of logs for the woodburner provided, remainder of fuel, power, bed linen and towels included. Internet access is available, although this can be rather tempremental owing to the rural location of the property.

The North York Moors National Park lies just inland from the North Yorkshire coastal resorts of Whitby and Scarborough and has 1,400 miles of trails, footpaths and bridleways, surrounded by heather clad rolling moor land dotted with pretty rural villages and historic country towns. Carving a pathway deep through the North York Moors is the famous North Yorkshire Moors steam railway, which carries passengers from Pickering in the south, north to Grosmont and then along the lovely Esk Valley to Whitby on the coast. This area handy for those who want to experience the many aspects that Yorkshire has to offer with easy access to both the Yorkshire Coast and Yorkshire Dales.
Great Ayton is situated a few miles from Shepherds Rest and is based on the edge of the North York Moors which offers plenty of different types of activities. There are many different types of walks to choose from that situate within this National Park. Guided walks are also available and dedicated routes for people walking with dogs. A variety of cycling routes are also found that range in difficulty to suit all abilities. There is a huge list of different outdoor activities that can be enjoyed on the North York Moors such as water sports, horse riding, motor sports and air sports – which are just to name a few! For those who prefer to take in sights and history in a slightly different fashion, there are also a huge variety of attractions to suit you. There are plenty of museums such as Captain Cook Memorial Museum and Farming Flashback where you can observe farming machinery. Other attractions include Flamingo Land Theme Park and Zoo, Staintondale Shire horse Farm and Scarborough Sea life and Marine Sanctuary.
