Northern England region

The North York Moors National Park lies just inland from the North Yorkshire coastal resorts of Whitby and Scarborough and has 1,400 miles of trails, footpaths and bridleways, surrounded by heather clad rolling moor land dotted with pretty rural villages and historic country towns.
Carving a pathway deep through the North York Moors is the famous North Yorkshire Moors steam railway, which carries passengers from Pickering in the south, north to Grosmont and then along the lovely Esk Valley to Whitby on the coast.
This area handy for those who want to experience the many aspects that Yorkshire has to offer with easy access to both the Yorkshire Coast and Yorkshire Dales.

Guisborough

Scenic drives will allow you to explore some of the surrounding pretty villages of the North Yorkshire Moors. The old port of Whitby is a fabulous historic area with its magnificent Abbey and old-fashioned cobbled streets. Take the North Yorkshire Moors steam train from Whitby via Grosmont and Goathland to Pickering, a bustling market town. Sultburn is a Victorian seaside town and only a short drive away.
