Quinta da Cavada lies only 11km from the centre of Guimarães–2012 European Capital of Culture.
It is a Typical farmhouse of Minho region with full of character, restored with meticulous supervision of one of the most international recognized Portuguese architect, retaining its original features such as exposed stone walls and attractive ceiling beams.
Completely secluded and surrounded by lawned gardens, pines and oaks.
Within the grounds and close to the private swimming pool a large covered poolside living /dining area with kitchenette, toilet and outside furniture, invites you to relax and have meals al fresco.
Nearby attractions include the historical towns of Guimarães-2012 European Capital of Culture and Braga-2012 European Youth Capital and further afield a visit to the historic city of Porto (45 minutes by car), with its beautiful old riverside quarter and renowned Port-wine cellars is a must see. Boat trips are also available on the famous Douro river.
