Home description
This farm is located on the "Franciscan track" between Assisi and Gubbio, passing near Valfabbrica town; it is composed by 60 acres of woods, pastures and an olive grove with production and sale of biological olive oil. The hilltop position is ideal for walks and excursions by bike; there is a spectacular view, both on the Appenines mountains between Umbria and Le Marche regions and on the uncontaminated hills where small towers and ancient villages are set. The property is completely fenced off and close to the big country house there is a very nice swimming pool (12mx6m) that is accessible to disabled people by a special entrance. At guests' disposal there is a large sun terrace with gazebo and long chairs.
Val di Marco is a big stone house dated back to the end of '700: it has been recentely restored mantaining all the characteristics of the old country houses and has been furnished in rustic "poor art" style personalized by the owner. The house is composed by 6 apartments on various levels and the common room on the back of the house, with external entrance. Each apartment has a small modular kitchen (4 electrical stove top, a small fridge and a sink enclosed in a wardrobe cabinet) equipped for the max number of people indicated. The double beds in the living rooms have normal mattresses and can be changed into sofas. The common room has a sitting area with tv/dvd and a dining area with kitchen corner with oven and dishwasher. The outdoor area is equipped with tables and chairs ideal for "al fresco" dinners. It is possible to rent all the property with exclusive use of the pool, with different rates according to the number of guests: the whole property with 6 apartments (max 20 guests); the whole property with 6 apartments (max 12 guests); the whole property except for the apartments Ginestra and Rosa Canina that will be closed (max 8 guests). Pianello: 2km. Valfabbrica: 8km. Collestrada: 9km. Assisi:18km. Perugia: 20km. Laying on the slopes of Monte Ingino, Gubbio is one of the most ancient towns of Umbria, extremely well preserved during centuries and rich of monuments testifying its glorious past.
Two important witnesses of the past are the Tavole Eugubine, one of most important documents referring to the ancient people called Italici and the Roman Theatre just outside the walls of the town. Dominated from the top by the Basilica on which the rests of St. Ubaldo are buried, Gubbio keeps architectonic masterpieces testifying the beauty and the imprtance of what used to be during the Middle ages, a real town-state.
