About this location
The Tuscany region
Tuscany is one of most beautiful Italian regions, cradle of a food and wine culture with high importance. Villa Fonteintanata is located at 200 meters above sea level and just a 15 kms from the Tyrrhenian coast facing the heart of the Tuscan Archipelago. On clear days from the windows of the first floor you can spot Corsica Isle. Elba Isle is a prime target for day tours, best viewed from the keel of a sailboat.
Bolgheri is the most famous Italian wine area. From its vineyards wines are exported throughout the world as Sassicaia and Ornellaia. A wine tour in the area with a visit to the most exclusive wine cellar of the area is an experience that wine lovers can not miss. Chianti wine are can be reached within a short drive as well.
Nearby is Volterra with its Etruscan and Roman heritage. Pisa is less than an hour, Florence and Siena one hour and a half, San Gimignano about an hour. All those cities will give insight into italian culture and cuisine.
Due to its location Villa Fonteintanata is ideal to start day trips to the Tuscan areas of greatest artistic and cultural interest without renouncing the proximity to the sea and the sea breeze that tempers the hot summer afternoons.
The entire ground floor of this impressive Tuscan farm house has been converted into a self contained luxurt holiday letting. For the sole use of our guests, a Turkish steam bath and a saltwater swimming pool are located directly next to the house.
The appartment covers 270 square meters. The 3 double bedrooms are all equipped ensuite with private shower or bathtub as well as the ability to accommodate one extra bed and/or a cot. In the Living room, which is the centre of the apartment, there is a billiard table that coverts into a large banquet table. An old functioning open fire place provids the possibility for a warm fire or a barbeque to relax in the evening. The fully equipped kitchen has direct access to the terrace, for the warm summer nights.
The garden is 25000 square meters which onlooks horse paddocks and gently rolling hills. The spacious covered terrace with its gardens around the pool area invite you to nap under eucalyptus trees, where you can enjoy the view. Nestled in the Tuscan hills a quite place away from all hectique and stress is provided. The main house sits within 85 hectares of property consiting of woods, fields and horse grazing grounds. All in all the perfect place to spend relaxing holidays.
The horses here have long enjoyed the quiet solitude of this magnificent setting. They graze under the olive trees, from which the extremely tasty home made oil is produced in late autumn. Come, to stay with us in this perfect ambiance. We also happily recommend excellent restaurants and wineries, which supply a fine selection of local products.
