The Costa Blanca, protected by the mountain ranges enjoys a mild Mediterranean climate with year-round sunshine.Temperatures reaching 35 C, on a regular basis. The area boasts 320 days of sunshine each year. Even in winter the temperature rarely drops below 15C.
The coastline line is a great place to live, it has facilities that match the most sophisticated cities and regions in Europe. The whole area is a golfers paradise with many courses to International standard, La Manga being just one of them.

Locally the old town of Guadamar with it's weekly street market, Tapas Bars, Restaurants, and superb blue flag beaches. The Costa Blancas (White Coast) favoured for holiday homes and second homes by the Spanish themselves offers healthy Maditerranean climate and all year round sunshine fanned by cooling sea breezes.

Guardamar del Segura / Elraso area
Guardamar del Segura is located on the Southern Costa Blanca approximately twenty five minutes drive south of Alicante airport and fifty minutes drive north of Murcia San Javier airport. Traditionally a Spanish holiday resort, the town is becoming more and more popular with northern Europeans. As its name implies, Guardamar del Segura, sited strategically on a hill overlooking the mouth of the River Segura, has long been guardian of the river. Excavations in the sand dunes, of which more later, have discovered remains dating back to the Romans and Phoenicians. The town was known as 'Alone' by the Greeks. The town has all the facilities you would expect of a busy seaside resort. The Tourist Information office is situated on the main square as is the Ayuntamiento and the main church. There is a museum, a ruined castle and two parks to enjoy. There are several hotels and many bars and restaurants offering all kinds of cuisine. The Casa de Cultura is home to an archaeological exhibition and plays host to numerous musical and theatrical events during the year. The Urbanisation of El Raso is just 5 minutes from the main town and has all of the amenities required within walking distance, including bars, restaurants and banks.
