The cottages are replicas of the conch cottages on most Caribbean islands and Key West, Florida. The cottages are decorated island style. Cottage is air conditioned, one bedroom with a pillow top queen size bed with high quality bedding. A pull out couch is in the living area & a twin size sleeping swing on the screened porch. Guanaja, the forgotten island & GCC will provide you with an unforgettable vacation, you will not find on a commercialized island or in a hotel/condo. Property is located on the north side of the island of Guanaja, which is known for the most beautiful isolated beaches on Guanaja. Guanaja is a virtually undiscovered island; 90% of the island is national forest reserve & marine park. Cottage provides ultimate privacy. Cottage is oceanfront and a replica of the romantic Caribbean Conch Cottages. The cottage is within walking distance of the town of Mangrove Bight, yet you can not see another house or building from the property. Guanaja is world renowned for diving, snorkeling, fly fishing and deep sea fishing, which can be arranged by owner. The world's second largest reef is with-in snorkeling distance from the property (bring snorkeling gear). Red Hill Coral Gardens are also within snorkeling distance. You will think you are in an aquarium. You can also snorkel from the property to the dramatic heart stopping drop-off through the reef, to the dramatic blue depths on the far side of the reef. You may fish off the dock (bring fishing gear to fish off dock), some of the largest permits have been caught in front of GCC. Cottage has an outdoor shower & water tap for showering after snorkeling & washing snorkel gear. Cottage has a hummingbird feeder, so you can sit on your screened-in porch & watch the humming birds feed. The cottage has a sleeping porch swing to take afternoon naps or relax & enjoy the view of the Caribbean, especially in the morning with your first cup of coffee. The screened porch also has a custom table to dine at. You can actually sleep out on the porch on the sleeping swing & listen to the waves & crickets lull you to sleep. There is a full kitchen in each cottage with new appliances & tropical palm dinnerware, the tap water is spring water, some of the best water in the world. The living room has a full size pull out couch &TV/DVD. Cottage has AC. The cottage has a queen size pillow top bed with romantic mosquito netting (just for looks, there are no mosquitoes). High quality linens are provided. The bath is custom tiled with tropical fish & coral tile. There is ample storage room. The decor of the cottage is tropical with a touch of romance. Local artwork adorns the cottage. There is a weekly bonfire for all-inclusive guests. Tours can be arranged at the property for guests. Pick-up for fishing and diving at the property. Wildlife around the property is abundant. You may be surprised to see a white tail deer on the beach in front of your cottage. Sea life is more varied here than on island that are more commercialized. There is a wide variety of coral, including brain, stag horn, black, wire as well as fans and soft coral. Sea life includes star fish, nurse sharks, giant green moray eels, turtles, lobster, crabs, french angel fish, queen angel fish, giant trigger fish, giant porcupine puffer fish with blue eyes, just like in Nemo! Tangs, butterfly fish & an assortment of other tropical fish are abundant in the water off GCC. Laundry services are available for a fee. Airport pick-up/return can be arranged for a fee. This is the only rental property with electricity within walking distance to waterfalls and village of Mangrove Bight (stores, cafes, dancing).
