This property is comprised of 5 old houses in stone, all in the middle of a wonderful landscape of olive yards, old chestnut trees, clean streams between rolling hills in the beautiful uncontaminated valley of the river Fiora. This is a place where the only sounds to be heard are made by the water in the small streams, the wind in the trees and the wild animals such as deer, wild boar and singing birds.

The area is great for taking a bath under the waterfall in the river, or enjoying long walks in the surrounding natural parks, visiting Etruscan sites and exploring the art cities such as Siena, Florence, Orvieto, Rome and many others. The beautiful beaches of the Tyrenian sea are just one hour from here.

The Tuscany region

Podere di Maggio is situated in the south-eastern part of Tuscany, the still undiscovered and most "original" part of the region, on the slopes of mount Amiata. Only an hour from the beautyfull tyrenan coast, though the river and waterfall nearby offer a lovely place to bathe and relax. The area boasts some fantastic cuisine and wine, beautiful countryside, and plenty of cultural sites to keep you busy.

Grosseto / Santa Fiora area

From here you can visit the beautiful nature parks in the surrounding area, or make excursions to Mount Amiata, an ancient volcano that enriches the entire zone with sources of warm thermal water (Saturnia, Petriolo, Bagno Vignoni, etc.). The area also offers the possibility of skiing in winter.

You can visit the medieval villages (Arcidosso, Castel del Piano, etc.), places of spiritual worship (Monte Labro, the Tibetan monastery Merigar and the old convents nearby); Etruscan sites and beautiful villages made in tufo (Pitigliano, Sorano, etc.)

By air to Rome or Pisa. You can find very cheap flights with Ryanair, from there by train to Grosseto, where we arrange pick-up service.
