Home description

The cottage has been rebuilt in the last few years to a very high standard and all amenities are wheel chair freindly. We have available for renting a two bedroom cottage able to cater for four guests . The owner of the property is himself in a wheel chair and wanted to create a holiday enviroment that is relaxing for families with members in wheel chairs. We are only advertising one cottage on this website, we have another two cottages available and if you are interested in any of the cottages feel free to contact us

The Tuscany region

The cottages are located outside of the town of Arcille, in the heart of the Maremma in southern Tuscany. The surrounding area is set in low rolling hills and the area is very rural. The weather in summer is dry and hot, with an average temperature in the mid 30s and the winters are mild with an average temperature in the low teens.
There are many areas of local interest which can be easily reached from the cottages, the towns of Scansano and the thermal baths of Saturnia are near by and can be reached in less than half an hour. The beaches of Alberese-Parco Naturale of Maremma (13km), Castiglione della Pescaia, Punta Ala and Marina di Grosseto can also be reached in less than half an hour . Daytrips to the historical cities of Siena and Florence are possible or even a daytrip to Rome would be possible.

Grosseto area

Grossseto is the capitol of the maremma, with a population of about 75,000 people. It can be reached from the cottages in about 20 minutes. Within the historic centre of Grosseto there are all the shopping facilities you require, sporting facilities and a wide range of bars and restaurants. Every Thursday morning there is an outdoor market at hte entrance to the old town and it is a great atmosphere with many bargains to be had. During the late summer there are numerous festivals in the local towns to celebrate the end of summer and the harvesting of crops, they are a great night out and the local cuisine is incredible.

How to get there

The nearest airports are Pisa , approximatly one and a half hours away and Rome Fiumancino about one and a half hours. The house is located about ten minutes inland from the coastal autostrada.

The cottage is set within the gardens of an old farm. The double bedroom cottage is approximatley 75 m2 and is set up with a lounge-dining room, with a kitchennete set in one corner of the room. There are two bedrooms, the main bedroom with a double bed and the second bedroom set up with two single beds. There is a shared bathroom with toilet, bidet, sink and shower.

The cottages are set in the gardens of the old farm building. All the cottages are shaded by mature pine trees. There is a large drive way leading to all the cottages and plenty of car parking space. The garden is all grassed. There is a play area for children and there is a barbeque area for the use of guests. In the centre of the garden is a 10 metre by 5 metre swimming pool. the pool is 1.4 metre deep and has Roman steps in one end which will facilitate wheel chair access.

Further details

A 20% deposit will be required to be sent to our bank account in Italy to secure the property for your holiday, the remaining balance to be payed on arrival. All amenities are supplied, gas water and electricity.
