About the home
Mas Lou Magnan ia a 200 year old typical stone house in the village of Grospierres. The west wing has been sympathetically converted and now comprises two independent studio rooms each with its own private roofed balcony and the use of a beautiful 9 x 5m swimming pool.
Studio CIGALE is situated on the ground floor and has a two-arched stone terrace. There is a feature fireplace and kingsize bed. The furnished room is light and airy with a glistening new en suite shower room. It looks out onto a large shaded lawn and garden with an original old well, leading to the swimming pool with relaxing sun loungers.
The room has a 'coin cuisine' cooking area with a 2-ring electric hob, a fridge-freezer, kettle, toaster, microwave and is fully-equipped. Kingsize bed with good reading lights, comfortable seating, TV and DVD player. Outside on the terrace is a table and seating for 4. A small balcony barbecue is available. All bedding and room towels provided at no extra cost. Use of the washing machine, iron and hair dryer are all available.

The Rhone / French Alps / Ardeche region
The dramatic countryside, vineyards, flower gardens and views in the Ardeche are stunning. The climate is Mediterranean with beautiful weather extending from early spring and late autumn.
There are colourful markets in St Paul Le Jeune, St Ambroix, Les Vans and Barjac, to name but a few. The towns of Montelimar, Nimes, Ales, Uzes, Ales, Orange and Avignon are all within an easy drive.
There are wonderful local medieval villages to discover such as Balazuc, Vogue, Labaume, Banne, Vallon Pont d'Arc and Vinezac as well as well-known caves and grottoes.
The area is very popular for cyclists and walkers alike.
The Grospierres area
Grospierres is wonderfully situated for endless activities: Canoeing and kayaking are hugely popular and within a minute's drive on the River Ardeche also offers excellent beaches and river swimming. The Gorges de l'Ardeche are just a few minutes' drive away. There is horse riding, paragliding, motocross, karting, tennis, country walks amid the vineyards and sunflowers from the doorstep, cycling or just paddling in the stream close by.
Grospierres offers a supermarket within 10 minutes walk as well as an excellent bar and restaurant. A hypermarket can be found 10 minutes drive away in Ruoms. Fresh fruit and flowers are available from the roadside in season.

Dear Maggie & Graham, We had a wonderful stay at Mas Lou Magnan! We would like to thank you for welcoming us so friendly when we arrived and also for the lovely garden we discovered the following morning. We loved the nice chats and all the good advice (Largentiere and Balazuc were lovely indeed). You may not have seen us very often but that doesn't mean we didn't feel at home. On the contrary Cigale was a beacon of rest for us. It was in fact the laziest part of our trip and this is a compliment. (Tamara & Elmer, Netherlands)

A lovely base to explore beautiful villages of character - Balazuc, Vogue, Banne, Les Vans, Labeaume. Magnificent scenery, gorges and caves. Excellent restaurants, especially the local Relais de la Poste close by in Grospierres. Lazy afternoons by the pool in glorious weather but the highlight has to be the canoeing trip from Vallon Pont d'Arc, only 7 kms but not bad for an OAP - absolutely loved it. Many thanks.
