Classic Dutch Sailing Clipper. Length 24 meters, wide 5 meters, height inside 2.10 meters. This houseboat has central heating, kitchen in the room. 2 toilets, 1 shower. The houseboat is rented in summer for sailing trips. Therefore only available as a hotel in autumn, winter and spring. This boat was built in 1897. It has been used as a sailing freight ship in the past to move coal, turf, potatoes, wheat and more from one part of Holland to another. In the 1950's a few idealists started restoring these boats to sailing ships again, but with luxury in mind. Very nice trips are made during the summer with participating guests in the shallow waters of Holland. The fleet developed to about 500 ships in Holland to the largest traditional sailing fleet in the world.

Situated in the quiet centre of historic city, Groningen, with canals, in the northern part of Holland. Groningen is a lively city with lots of pubs, historic buildings, museums, concerthalls.... The city has a big student population giving the city a wealth of cultural activites and vibrant nightlife.
Amsterdam is within 1 1/2 drive by car or train.
The winters are usually mild in Groningen.

Groningen is a historic city, with beautiful buildings, a lively shopping centre and a friendly atmosphere. There are moviecentres, theatre, concerthall, museums. Three days a week a big market with chaep products as fruits, vegetables, fresh poultry, fish, cheese. Regular pop and jazzevents.
How to get there
Cheap flying to Schiphol Airport, from there by train to Groningen. In the city 15 minute walk.

Using bed and breakfast the rate is E 35,- per person. Renting the total ship the rate is 150 Euro per night, with a minimum of two nights, Week rate is E 540,-, regardless of the number of persons. Self-catering.
