House | 4 bedrooms | sleeps 8
Newly renovated, extremely comfortable and very tastefully decorated, chalet Luftschloss (castle of the winds) boats uninterrupted views of the surrounding mountains. The big, open plan living space with open fireplace and big windows creates a very pleasant atmosphere. The chalet is located on Terrassenweg, one of the sunniest areas of Grindelwald. It is only a few minutes' walk from the ski-school nursery slopes on Bodmi, and from there you can also ski down to the First cable car station. It is also conveniently close to a restaurant as well as a bus stop with connections in all directions. In winter the ski piste (First ski region) runs almost to the door of the property.
In summertime, the amount of hikes you can go on are countless, whether it's a short stroll combined with a cable car ride with the children, a more adventurous day hike or downright mountaineering. Grindelwald has something for everyone's taste.

About this location
The Jungfrau Region
Grindelwald is set in the alpine heartland of Switzerland known as the Bernese Oberland. Dominated by the world famous Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau mountains it boasts the country's highest density of dramatic scenery. The village is the stating point for hundreds of walking trails, mountain biking trails, paragliding, rafting and much more in the summer months and for its skiing and snowboarding during the winter months when it becomes a lively winter ski resort. Set beneath the towering peak of the Eiger you couldn't be in a more beautiful setting. Its nicknamed 'glacier village' for its proximity to two large seas of ice which are well worth a hike to during the summer months. The main street is packed with little restaurants, cafes and bars , all with terraces for you to take in the views. There is train station in town making it easily accessible from any part of Switzerland.
