We welcome all skiers and can put together packages for apaptive and visually impaired skiers to include trained ski guides, Tessier ski bob hire, transport, instructors and general assistance.

The apartment is spacious, laid out in an easy logical format, situated close to the cable car and ski slopes, the ski area has a skibob friendly lift system, this hidden gem has attracted discerning Swiss Skiers for many years.

Wet room / family shower with 1mtr wide door which opens outwards making for easy use with a wheelchair.

Top quality mattresses quilts and cotton bedding, for your comfort all bedrooms have individual adjustable heating ,hair dryers,dressing gowns,and a generous amount of pillows, the wheelchair friendly bedroom has a memory mattress, easy to access open storage and room to move around, the accessible wet room has the use of an adjustable shower stool and suction handrails if required.

The apartment is easy to move around with tiled or wood floors, underfloor heating,an open plan design offering access to all areas. Large windows affording stunning views from all rooms across a snow capped landscape and the beautiful historic 15th century village village of Grimentz.

2 large balconies of which 1 is a large east facing off the lounge with large patio table and seating, accessible but a small threshold, 1 is south facing off the lounge and kitchen, threshold plus step so accessible for some chair users.

Reserved parking is level to the entrance and directly outside the front door, ski locker and heated cave, you have 2 reserved parking spaces next to each other.

This Penthouse apartment is on the top two floors of the property however access is level to the road, there are no steps from the parking into the property.

Drake's Drum can be offered fully catered for 4-8 people, self catering or bed &breakfast,

we are flexible, just ask and we will try to match your requirements.

Our catered holidays include a hearty buffet breakfast, canapes followed by a three course dinner with wine, fresh coffee and chocolates. All day, help yourself to tea, fresh filter coffee, biscuits etc.

Included in the rental cost for self catering 8 guests, ( 2 extra futon beds in the upstairs suite. 30.00GBP per person for the duration of the stay)

The Swiss Alps region

Grimentz is situated in the Val d'annivier. The ski area is one of the best kept secrets, 15th century chocolate box village connected to its own ski area by a fast telecabine and chair lifts, uncrowded dreamy pistes to suit all level of skiers for details of ski domainlift prices etc. With skiing from 1600-2900 with mostly north and north east facing slopes Grimentz offers fantastic snow conditions all season.


Fantastic ski area, historic village where real people live and work. Grimentz is famous for its old sun darkened

raccard houses, with authentic restaurants, full size ice hockey rink, indoor swimming pool.

The Val d'annivier lift pass covers all five of the ski resorts in this special valley, all different, all offering superb high altitude skiing, linked by bus included in the lift pass. We are biased, but Grimentz is the pearl!

"Excellent location, wonderful accommodation and terrific skiing"

We had a fantastic time with ample space for the eight of us. The ski lifts were close by and we had wonderful snow cover. Our little boys went to ski school and achieved amazing results. I went dual-skiing with Annick Geiger which was amazing. Annick's contact details were given to me by Lorrena who helped us immensely with our skiing, shopping and transport contacts. The chalet was wheelchair accessible and well set out. Only problem was the accessible bathroom that wasn't really wheelchair accessible that gave me some problems. The owner is looking into rectifying this with the installation of handrails and a larger more secure shower chair. Wheelchair users really need a car but there is parking available at the door. Overall an amazing holiday destination and an extremely helpful owner.

"Drake's Drum - the perfect getaway."

We travelled with our wheelchair dependant son, and Drake's Drum catered for his needs perfectly, without compromising the comfort of the rest of the party. The apartment is spacious and well laid out, fully equiped and self contained. The views from the windows alone are beautiful, before you even begin to explore the surrounding area. One of the balconies has a high step, but the other has a lower threshold that would not be difficult for a manual wheelchair, but this was clearly stated in advance in the advertising material, and the owners were very willing to discuss any concerns before booking. The village of Grimentz is a delight to explore, and our son was able to see all its sights by wheelchair without any difficulty. Beyond Grimentz, a visit to the nearby Dam at Moiry and the Moiry Glacier are a must-see. In July we were able to take the car almost to the foot of the glacier. In summary, Drake's Drum was a perfect home-from-home, Grimentz and the surrounding area a delight to explore and relax, and we are already planning to return again next summer.

"A nice place to have a perfect skiing week"

the appartment is very nice and well equiped; you have a beautiful room on the top floor.
A wonderful view on the mountains and you have just to walk to reach the gondola and the alpine ski runs.
You have alpine birds who come to eat seeds on the wood balcony during the journey.
Grimentz is a very traditional switzerland village with a good snow quality( north position).
