About the home

A delightful property in a lovely, quiet spot on the west side of Lake Como situated between Menaggio and Cadennabia, close to Tremezzo famous for its lake side walks, villas and gardens offering charm in abundance!
Sleeping 6 guests, a decent sized apartment featuring 2 bedrooms, stylish living room, character kitchen area, garden and private parking spot. Golden sand beach 10 minutes drive plus small shingle beach 2 minutes drive or 10 mins walk down to the lake. Ferry less than 5 Minutes drive. Bellagio is accessible from the ferry in Cadennabia whilst walkers will enjoy the famous trek to San Martina church (30 mins walk up the mountain road from the apartment!) The less adventurous may wish to relax in the garden and relax in this peaceful location or take a stroll down to the lake when the mood takes you!

Tastefully furnished, the apartment is ideal for families and couples who want to the perfect "get away from it all" location yet close enough to reach the lake and nearest restaurant (5-10 mins walk from the apartment)
Quiet location yet just a 5 minute drive to the tourist area of Menaggio (shingle beach and town)and 10 minutes to Tremezzo (Villa Carlotta gardens)
Character kitchen, bathroom with overhead shower, 2 bedrooms (double and twin) tastefully decorated and comfortable living room with sofabed for 2 more guests. In total the apartment can sleep 6 guests.

What images does Lake Como conjour up for you? Relaxing palm lined lake side strolls.,sipping a cool glass of your favourite soave wine as you sit back and admire the mesmering lake and majestic mountains?
Lazing about on the beach as waitors bring you your favourite cocktail whilst your while away the hours beneath tented gazebos or never ending lunches or dinners where you can indulge yourself in typical italian specialities? Mountain walking, water sports, or visiting cathederals and churches, concerts and concerto's?
Whatever your impression, the reality of Lake Como will only enhance your vision and leave you thirsty for more!
Please ask for our recommended places to visit, favourite restaurants, in fact whatever your requirements please do not hesitate to ask. We fell in love with Lake Como and moved here from the UK lock, stock and barrel as we couldn't bear to leave the beauty of the area, the welcoming locals, the tranquil pace of life, the lust for life (or more like food and wine!) We hope we can pass on our recommendations to ensure you get the very best from your stay and like many of out customers return again and again.

The Griante area

The lake attracts italianphiles and lovers of dolce vita in equal measures-and it's easy to see why.
Griante is ideally situated for panoramic lake views yet the apartment is just 5-10 minutes walk to the lake. The accommodation is ideally situated to reach Menaggio and Tremezzo which offer all you could ever wish for from a lakeside location .Palm lined lakeside walks,shingle beaches, panoramic lake views to Bellagio and a sunny aspect with lends itself to the palm lined sometimes semi-tropical climate. The gentle breeze whipped up from the lake act as a gentle reprieve from those balmy sunny days.

The village of Menaggio is just a 10 minutes drive and is renowned for its stunning piazza, award winning ice cream parlour, fresh lake fishmongers, designer fashion, cafe culture, leather and silk botiques etc
The supermarket and ferry stop in the village means you have all you require at your disposal.
Tremezzo is 10 minutes drive only south and includes the majestic gardens of Villa Carlotta and superb lakeside walks.
Local attractions include;-
30 min ferry ride to Bellagio
Day trip to Switzerland-the border is 20 minutes drive-or 2 hours to San Moritz
Villa Carlotta, majestic gardens just 10 minutes drive
Villa Gaeta as seen in the final scenes of Casino Royale 2006 James Bond movie
Villa Balbianello-breathtakingly beautiful lakeside villa-15 minutes from Menaggio
Golf just 10 minutes drive-a favourite haunt of George Clooney.
Take the ferry to Bellagio directly from Bellagio which you can view across the lake from Menaggio.

Guestbook for Apartamento Griante

Just wanted to say what a lovely time we had on our holiday last week. The flat was lovely, perfect for our needs. It was clean, spacious and the facilities provided (cot, highchair, safety gate, bath) made life a lot easier with our little girl. The views from the flat are stunning and the area was gorgeous. We definitely want to come back in the future!
