About the home

San Pierino is located on a hilltop in the centre of Villa Calcinaia Estate and offers a breathtaking view from the house and the pool. From the ancient rectory adjacent to the small church of San Piero al Pino (13th century), two apartments in one big farmhouse have been restored maintaning the ancient structure of the house . The farmhouses San Pierino and Il Prato, featured on Italy’s RAI3 travel program Bell’Italia, have been prised for their renovation that has brought together the most modern conveniences with an historical appreciation for the countryside, its customs and architecture. The houses are within the Chianti Classico hills, therefore surrounded by nature and tranquility but still conveniently close to the city centre of Greve in Chianti and the major art towns like Florence and Siena.

Canonica offers views from the ground floor terrace of the surrounding vineyards. Indoors on the ground floor is a large kitchen with fireplace and all appliances as well as a bathroom with bathtub. On the first floor is a double bedroom, a twin bedded room and a bath with bathtub; on the second floor is the sitting room with views to the hills and a single bedroom.
The second apartment at San Pierino is the Pozzo apartment which has a large kitchen (all appliances), sitting room and dining area in an open floor plan. On the ground floor is a twin bedded room and a en suite bathroom with shower suitable also for guests with restricted mobility or wheelchair users . On the first floor there is a double bedroom, a twin-bedded room and bath with tub.

Pozzo´s outdoor patio with view over the valley is trellised for shade and offers a grill, table and chairs. Canonica has a terrace with view over vineyards and the valley and is equipped with table and benches. Chaise longe available for the pool area. The pool has a breathtaking view over the Chianti Classico hills.

Allo stop, dopo il pedaggio contornare la rotonda e proseguire direzione Greve in Chianti, percorrere 22,35km (sulla strada troverete le località Il Ferrone e Passo dei Pecorai), poco prima di Greve arrivate nella località di Greti, sulla vostra destra sempre rimanendo sulla strada principale troverete la Vendita Diretta di Villa Calcinaia. Coming from the north: Take the highway A1 and exit at Firenze Impruneta. After paying the fee for the highway you will find a roundabout. Follow the signs for Tavernuzze and Greve in Chianti, continue to follow in direction of Greve for 22,35 km (on your way you will pass Ferrone and Passo dei Pecorai) . Right before Greve you will arrive at GRETI, at your right hand side on the main road you will find Villa Calcinaia Wine shop for the Check-In.
