The East Anglia / Norfolk region

Caister on Sea is a village close to Great Yarmouth, where there is lots to see and do for familys and couples, golfers and racing lovers. Gt Yarmouth has lots of attactions for everyone only a short bus ride away from Caister. The seafront is packed with things to do for the family such as a great funfair, amusments galore, bingo, and there is a good selection of pubs with entertaiment in the evenings. There are summer shows, mini golf for the family, loads of good restaurants along the seafront inc Harry Ramsdens Fish and Chips, a great Indian planet pappadam, lots of English restarants for kids, Olive Garden in Regent Rd.

There is some great history around the quay side where you can also take a boat trip, and you can go shopping in Gt Yarmouth. Try the local market where you can find all locally grown fruit and veg, and the local seafood stalls are a must. Local arts and crafts, market gates as good shops also. If it's designer things you are after take a short trip to Norwich, a great place to eat drink, and the shops are great. For those who like golf the Gt Yarmouth and Caister links course is a must, while there are also other good courses local. How about a night at the dogs, whether it be couples or families, this is a good night out. You can book in the race view restaurant and sit at your table all night and have a flutter or two from as little as £15 a person for a 3 course meal and entance fee. There is Yarmouth horse racing on differant days though out the year.

For couples or those who like it quiet there are some lovely walks across the dunes and beaches, go for a drive to some nice quiet Norfolk villages such as Winterdon and Sea Palling, where you can sometimes see the seals come in on the beaches. Cromer is another good day out, and stop of at some of the local pubs where you will find great food and ale. How about a day on the Norfolk Broads, where you can hire a day boat and just relax up and down the Broads watching some great and rare wildlife. Wroxham Broad is a good starting point, or Potter Higham, all within 15 mins drive from Caister. For those wising not to hire a boat there are also boat trips. Caister itself is quite quiet but at the same time as some good restarants and pubs and takeaways in the village.

Caister Castle is worth a visit, and the castle pub is excellent for food. The local bus service into Gt Yarmouth is really good and to surrounding villages everything is in 5 mins walkiing distance and not a hill in site. For those who like sea fising this can be booked local appox £15 a person, which includes your bait and rods.

There really is so much to do for the whole family or couples! For any futher information, go to greatyarmouth.co.uk, where it will tell you a whole lot more.
