There are several National Trust properties to visit in Norfolk, and you can also explore the nearby Norfolk Broads. Great Yarmouth is just 10 minutes drive away, and offers a traditional seaside experience with end of the pier entertainment.

The Great Yarmouth / Winterton-on-Sea area
Winterton-on-Sea is a small former fishing village situated right on the coast. There's a beautiful sandy beach, with miles of sand and sheltered dunes for walks or windy days.
At the beach, you can have breakfast at the popular Dunes cafe, and there are also toilet facilities for days on the beach. A small exhibition at the Coastguard centre gives a taste of Winterton's history as a fishing village.
The local pub is less than two minutes walk away, and serves a good choice of home cooked food. Around the corner is the post office and general stores, a supermarket and a fish a chip shop. Also nearby is the Hermanus Hotel, with restaurant open to non residents.
In the winter, you can visit the seals at nearby Horsey, or support the work of the local seal hospital in Winterton by paying them a visit during one of their open days.

The house was amazing, everything you needed for a lovely family holiday. The beds were very comfortable and bedding was crisp and clean. Plenty of space so we were not on top of each other. We all loved the walk to the beach, and Izzy our black lab loved the water. The pub was also very friendly and food very good. We all enjoyed our stay very much. |

The house is very well kept, clean and tidy. It has a lovely large kitchen, ample bedrooms, bathrooms and living space. There is a very nice atmosphere to the house. If we had visited during warmer weather we would have made use of the large garden. On arrival, we found a Christmas hamper and card, which was an added treat. I stayed there with partner and 6 friends and we enjoyed our stay. The house is very near the village pub and a 10 minute walk to the beach. At this time of year there are seal pups, further up the beach - well worth a visit. The owner of the property was very helpful and quick to respond to my emails. I would stay at the house again. |
Guestbook for Cleveland House
We have spent a wonderful week here in your wonderful house. Four adults, one nana, six children aged three months to one year and one dog. We have all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We love the village, the beach, the dog walks, the pub and it’s super food (the dads enjoyed the ‘nog’!) and of course the house which is so clean, comfortable, relaxing and spacious …. Plenty of room to spread out, such a great and sociable layout. The children found the garden fantastic too …plenty of scooting track and swingball space ….great to keep them busy whilst we prepared yet more yummy food! Lots to do in the area also, lovely to be able to include our dog Max in our family holiday. We would love to come back. Thank you.

What an amazing house. We have all had a fantastic Christmas, enjoyed walks to the beach. Izzy (black labrador) enjoyed the water. The village pub is very friendly – we visited it on many occasions. There is everything you need here at the house – so clean and comfortable.
