About the owners:
Since we first knew each other, we have been travelling to Provence and 25 years on, we still love the area. I have also travelled the length and breadth of France on historic car rallies for many years and although there are many beautiful areas, Provence is a region I wanted to keep coming back to. We live and work in UK but like many, hope to spend more time in France later in life because we enjoy the climate, the wine and food as well as the culture and the many new places to explore. Our children are at or nearing University stage, so we expect to be on the hamster wheel for some time to come!

The Provence region
It is only 10 minutes from the chic and beautiful town of St Remy de Provence and 20 minutes from the bustling medieval city of Avignon, the centre of which is ranked as UNESCO World Heritage.
There is so much to see and do in this scenic and cultural area of France. The property is secluded, yet in the heart of the village and less than 5 mins on foot from a well stocked supermarket.
Appx 40 minute drive to Camargue/Coast, due south.
The area is well served by several airports, all with hire car facilities. Also a TGV train service as well as the AutoRail service, both of which stop at Avignon. Nimes Airport 35km (Ryanair from London, Liverpool and E. Midlands). Avignon Airport 20km (Flybe from various airports in England & Scotland). Montpellier & Marseilles Airports both 100 km mainly on motorway (Ryanair & Easyjet).
40 minutes from the Camargue/Coast, 35 minutes from Nimes/Arles, 30 minutes from Orange & Peter Mayle's residence, 20 minutes from Avignon/Les Baux and 10 minutes from St Remy/Tarascon.
A 5 minute walk to the well stocked supermarket, shops and restaurants in Graveson.
Graveson has a bank, Boulangeries, several restaurants, a cafe, newsagent and a market. It also has a nearby tennis club and wine caves. Tennis, horseriding, gliding and small plane trips are available over the Alpilles, near St Remy as well as wonderful walks and cycling. It is not far from Chateauneuf du Pape so wine tasting and gourmet eating are essential! There is a Tourist Office in the village to help you. We can arrange for a chef to cook a meal for you, or alternatively, you could go to his cookery school in the village about 300 metres away.
Special interest holidays:
This is an area of great interest to artists because of the natural light and surroundings, hence the art schools of Avignon. The apartment is named after local artist Auguste Chabaud, a contemporary of Matisse and Derain and whose work can be seen in the village museum. It is also about 30 minutes from the Southern Rhone Vineyards including Chateauneuf du Pape.
