This 3rd floor apartment (accessed through a spiral staircase) is located in Edinburgh's famous Grassmarket (a thriving area full of boutique shops, fantastic restaurants and bars) right in the heart of Edinburgh’s Historic Old Town and to add to this the apartment has excellent views of Edinburgh Castle!

The apartment is full of original features including original Georgian fire places, panelled walling, Georgian cooking range and an original pulley for drying your clothes!

Lounge

Within the lounge there are two windows both looking out onto the Grassmarket and Edinburgh Castle (complete with working shutters), original Georgian Fire Place and original wooden panelling to the walls additional to this, there are two sofa's one of which is a sofa bed (which could sleep another 2 people), TV and DVD player as well as cable TV and free broadband internet/Wi-Fi.

Kitchen

The traditional style kitchen is well stocked with all utensil's and cooking equipment required for a comfortable stay (including fan assisted oven, ceramic hob, fridge freezer, washing/dryer, dishwasher, table and chairs and all the other things you expect).

Bedroom 1

The main bedroom again boasts excellent views of the Grassmarket and Edinburgh Castle (complete with working shutters), the original Georgian Fire Place, double bed, wardrobe, drawers and bedside cabinets and lamps.

Bedroom 2

This second bedroom comes with double bed, wardrobe, drawers and bedside cabinets and lamps and original working shutters on the windows

Shower Room

Within the contemporary shower room there is a large walk-in shower, sink, toilet, large mirror (with light).

Bed Linen & Towels

Bed linen provided and towels are provided free of charge (if your stay is longer than 7 days a changeover of fresh clean bed linen and towels will be arranged).

Internet Access & Cable TV

As previously mentioned the flat comes with free broadband internet/Wi-Fi and cable TV

"A cracking little flat in the midst of it all"

We loved the flat - even the spiral staircase that other reviewers have commented on (we needed the exercise given the amount we were eating and drinking!). The flat is gorgeous - all mod cons but lots of intact character too. It's handily placed at the head of Grassmarket, with support from the backpackers around the corner (who kindly printed my return boarding passes for me and allowed us to store our gear prior to checking in). I can see where other commenters were coming from with respect to the noise but for us that just added to the atmosphere - we enjoyed watching and hearing the world go by below us - but if you're a light sleeper, ear plugs may be a good thing to pack.

"Fabulous flat, amazing location and excellent owner"

This flat is very comfortable , right in the heart of Grassmarket . Two of the tour buses stop in Grassmarket and then continue to St Andrews square where you can change to a different route if you buy the big ticket that allows you to do that.
There is a good store very close to the flat and a local Sainsburys about 5 minute walk from the flat which is very well stocked.
Very close by there are smaller eating places, you can eat in or take away , and they offer a good range of light meals. We liked the baked potatoes with humous and roasted vegetables .
A few pizza places and fish and chips are available just minutes from the flat. There is an award winning restaurant right under the flat called the Mussel and Steak..we never tried it but look good and was usually busy.
Some great history in the Grassmarket area.
Key pick up is easy , at Budget Backpackers round the corner and they are a very happy helpful bunch of people!
Sean the owner is great and left us some milk and shortbread ..lovely..if you need anything in particular then Sean is your man to ask.
